Your Friendly Neighborhood

Re: Your Friendly Neighborhood Map - Public Playtesting

I'm placing this On Hold until the Coffee items and Satellite Dish gets squared away so I don't hold up the public slot.

Re: Your Friendly Neighborhood Map - On Hold

 Definitely hoping to help move both those things forward in the short term.

Re: Your Friendly Neighborhood Map - On Hold

Overall Look: Look like a suburban neighborhood. You get the theme immediately.

Stability: I haven't built it in person, but Japes did and said it was stable.

Build difficulty: Pretty straight forward.

Size: Larger sized map. Can be used for 2 player 1000 point or higher games or 2 vs 2 easily. Not the best choice for lower than 800 points as there is a lot of space to cover on the map.

Unit types positively affected: Figures that have high moves

Unit types negatively affected: nothing really, maybe slow, walking melee only figures. Those figures struggle on any large map.

Key areas on the Map: Center of the map between the houses and the center road areas.

Areas not used much or at all: The far corners, the Satellite dish does bring people there.

Game 1:
Spoiler Alert!

Game 2:
Spoiler Alert!

Final Thoughts: I like adding in the items to the houses. The first aid kit and the coffee items are fun and thematic but not game breaking. There are enough items to throw around but not too much that it becomes a throwing contest. The Satellite Dishes are going to be draws to their spots on the map in some games but not so much in others. You are taking one of your allies and placing them somewhat out of the action, Rick Jones didn't really use any of his powers, but it was worth the boost for the Avengers in that game. In the first one it didn't matter at all. I think the map in balanced and hits on theme. It's a bigger map so can handle multiplayer games or larger point totals. I feel that this map is ready to move forward in the process.

Re: Your Friendly Neighborhood Map - On Hold

This is still on hold until the Coffee items get finished, but I did get my playtests in on it.

Getting actual houses and satellite dishes in the map image is awesome. Thanks for all the work you put in around here @japes.

Re: Your Friendly Neighborhood Map - Vote for On Deck

Thanks guys. Feels nice to be appreciated. I'm refining my processes for the Maps as we go so i spend less time on the mundane aspects and can put more effort into extras like this.
