Wave 1 and TT anywhere?

I can't find any wave 1 or thaelenk tundra anywhere! on ebay it is like $40 and i can't afford it(only a kid here) and i was wondering if they were still being sold anywhere. Plz help.

It's either online (be it Ebay, an online store, or trading through a site like thise one) or through an extremely lucky find at a shop.

I have two of the hobby shops in my area with a holding order for me for both the Tundra and Volcarren sets, they aren't hopeful though.

You will have a better chance of finding another thread on the same subject then the items you seek.

Volcarrean Wasteland was a TRU exclusive and we do not know what the exclusive agreement included in it. TRU no longer carries Scape but they may still have the exclusive contract to carry it until a particular date regardless.

As Onacara said, look for another thread next time. it makes less junk floating around the forums. There's a search bar right under the buttons labeled forums, Gallery, Download, and so on.

To answer your question, It would probably be best to either go to wargamersheadquarters/housemouse.com, or wait for a re-release for wave 1. as for the Tundra, online is your best shot. Good luck! (Also, on wargamers headquarters, all shipping is 4.95 no matter how much you order, and it's free if you spend over $100, so save up and then buy!)

Keep an eye out on HasbroToyShop.com. Every once in a while they will have a few TTs there (or at least, that's what happened last year). They get gobbled up pretty dang quick, so the trick is to keep vigilant. Also, a day after they sell out, they usually have some more (I speculated in another thread that that was because of people putting it in their carts and then leaving, and after a day the allocated stock gets released again).

It's not at all impossible to get some this way if you are patient and keep checking. Last year, I was lucky enough to buy three sets on two separate occasions this way, and I even used a 20% & free shipping code on one of the sets....

Alternately, there have been reports of Canadian TRUs having stock. You might want to ask some eh-sayers on the boards here.

Good hunting!

I found a few wave 1's on HouseMouse Games but i'm not sure where to find a TT.
When was that? 2004?

Unfortunately, I havn't seen any either.

It makes me think back to there being tons of them on the shelf at Toys R Us, but I only wanted one...

That and the $13 Flag Bearers... Only picked up one of 'em.

*kicks self*

I think we all have some of these regrets. (TT, VW, Flagbearers that sat there for months... ugh...) The lesson, of course, is to buy obscene amounts of everything in the future.

This site:

Shows they have TT for $28 -- I've never ordered anything from them, so don't know anything about reliability, service, etc.

I did a quick BBB check on them -- they have no complaints listed, but they aren't BBB accredited either.

I found that site this morning when doing a froogle search for AA. No idea if they're reputable though. From the look of the website it appears to be a Housemouse type operation, the difference being that we know that HM has a great reputation, whereas this place is unknown.

One of the users here referred me to the thread on this site. Since there are questions about a Snaggy diMe, I thought I'd try and answer them.

We are a small business. We are not well known. If we get too big, we will not be able to continue providing the level of service that our customers expect. We've been in business since 2005. Our major concentration has been gifts and collectibles (such as Trail of Painted Ponies and Call of the Wolf), but we have dabbled in many other areas, including HeroScape products.

We are not a BBB member. The annual cost to be a BBB member is $600. All the vetting they do is cash the check and give you the right to display their logo. For those of you who have visited the site, I'm sure you saw we do our best to keep the prices low. Paying $600 each year to display a logo is not a good business strategy when it comes to low prices. We would like to think that our record with the BBB speaks for itself. In terms of complaints they treat members and non-members the same way.

Having members of this site reference us has certainly driven up our sales in HeroScape products. We have sold out of Thaelenk Tundra today and saw sales in some other HeroScape products. Thank you. We did check with our distributors and all are out of Thaelenk Tundra at this time. It appears that this particular production line has been stopped. We don't have information at this time as to when Thaelenk Tundra will be made again.

I would be happy to answer questions if anyone here wishes to know more about our business or our products.

Thank you.

Welcome to Heroscapers Maggie, and best of luck with your business. I'm glad my post has helped your sales (and helped some fellow scapers find TT).

Welcome, Maggie!

Maybe you can build trust around here the old fashioned way: word of mouth. Hopefully any 'Scapers on this site who've purchased from you can post about their experiences here.

I know that housemousegames.com has a lot of wave 1 but I though they stopped making TT...

Thaelenk Tundra is indeed out of print and currently out of stock. It is one of the original Hasbro products. Wizards of the Coast indicated in a release when they purchased HeroScape from Hasbro that they will continue reprinting older sets in order to meet demand. I fully expect to see Thaelenk Tundra available again in the future, but Wizards of the Coast is yet to indicate when this will happen.

I would suggest that they're no going to be doing that anytime soon for the following reasons:

1. WotC has a bad case of NIH (Not Inveted Here), meaning they are loathe to produce something they didn't come up with. I'd think they'd create new products before reprinting old ones.
2. Supply is not that short, from a global perspective. They are being clearanced in Canada (see BigBadBruinsMac for details) and they are all over Ebay. I would think that supply needs to come to a near standstill before they consider reprinting.
3. The fact that they were clearanced off indicates to me that they oversold it and the retailers would've given feedback to Hasbro indicating that it did not sell well. Sales numbers are the only true indicator of demand, and the fact that most people have 1-2 sets of TT versus a multitude of sets people have of RotV and SotM would tell me that the market desires large Master Sets over smaller terrain sets. This is happening with the TJ set and FotA set now, where they're being sold at just-above-cost.

Thats my 2C
