Today in HeroScape!

My vote would be the less-mainstream Sontarans.
Very militaristic, fearless, and honour-driven (like Klingons). Their weak point is on their back to keep them from ever turning away from a battle.

It’s Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day: What’s the HeroScape thing you do that few others do? (I’ll claim Today in HeroScape as my Unique Talent, although everyone is welcome to post Today in HeroScape thoughts everyday!)

It’s National Brand Day (yes, that’s a thing, apparently): Well this is an easy one for me - Hasbro, Marvel, and D&D (GI Joe soon?) - all brands we love, or at least appreciate, for their part in HeroScape… the brand of all brands! (At least on this forum.)

On this date in 1476, Vlad Dracula retook the throne of Wallachia for the last time. Obviously you should use the Esenwein clan to recreate Vlad’s side of the battle, but who will play Dracula’s enemies?
Since we don't have a Van Helsing in Heroscape, who can we get to stand in? I'm leaning towards knights or paladins. The Sir Dupuis with the Templars as "holy warriors" could fit the bill (although I've never been too successful with that army, but with the vampires all following Utgar, the extra attack may make it a closer fight).

I think this is my first three-fer: On this day in 1920 “The Mark of Zorro” premiered and in 1940 Bruce Lee was born. I know one is fictional and the other real, but I think both would be great HeroScape characters! It’s also Turtle Adoption Day and I think Renegade should definitely adopt some giant turtles into the game!

It’s Systems Engineer Day. That happens to be my job title! This systems engineer is blowing off work today to play HeroScape!

It’s National Christmas Lights Day, which is also the day they light the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in New York.

Here is the HeroScape version of that event!

Decorate under your Christmas tree with HeroScape terrain and figs and post pics of it here!

Pics of my layout:
Spoiler Alert!

It’s National Skip School Day: Our skip day was in April (a long time ago, I have grandkids now) and we went to the beach (I grew up in south Florida). But it’s too cold for that in December! So, kids, take some armies to your friend’s house (because both his parents are at work) and play HeroScape all day!

It’s Make A Gift Day. Share your ideas for handmade HeroScape gifts! Papercraft terrain, 3D printed and painted minis, even art like @RogueScaper’s sister’s Krug Life.

Here’s a handmade Control Console papercraft I’m working on for a Marvel Scenario. I don’t have anyone to give it to and I’m still prototyping it, but I’ll upload the file when it’s ready:

An older project, but still one my favorite low cost HS modifications, and it could be a unique gift to a fellow HSer. Rules are the same as the swamp bushes - just a different look if your map doesn't include swampy areas, but you still want some additional defense cover. The tall grass is from a "grass mat" that was purchased at a craft store (used as a base around artificial trees). The individual clusters of grass were just held on with a plastic pin from underneath to a plastic grid. Simply pull of the pins, drill small hole the size of the pin in some HS tiles and insert the pin from below and it holds the clump of grass in place. For a 2 hex tile, I used either two or three clusters of grass and for 1 hex tiles just one cluster of grass.

I just checked on-line at a craft store and it looks like a 10"x10" square costs $20 and would give you 100 individual clusters of grass.

Today is National Dice Day. What is your favorite set of dice for HeroScape? I prefer my Einar dice, but also like the plain whites (very readable). Who has some awesome custom combat dice to show off?

Yes, that looks like what I used. The ones I used were about 2" tall - it's hard to tell if the one in the link is that tall or not.

EDIT: Just check on another website (one named after a Brazilian rain forest) and it listed the height as 2.25" (and also had a higher price), so confirmed that would be the one I used (or at least the current version of what I used).

I like the original red and blue dice.

The Jandar dice have always been a favourite of mine, but I like all the flag-bearer dice in general. If Renegade every produced a fancy dice set with the recessed symbols, I would likely buy it.

It’s International Ninja Day! Who’s in your best HeroScape Ninja army? How long until we have official versions of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow?

It’s World Trickshot Day, a celebration of skill, creativity, and mind-boggling athletic feats. Let’s not worry about the ‘athletic’ part; tell us about a great HeroScape ‘trickshot’ you pulled off or still want to!

It’s National Letter Writing Day. Letters from Xiamara, Sonlen, and Shiori are the main source of expanding HeroScape lore in three of the four monthly scenarios. Which HeroScape characters do you want to see letters from in future scenarios? ✍️

I know it sounds odd, but I'd like to see a letter from Krug. I imagine him speaking in third person broken English sounding like Hulk - "Krug HURT - Krug MAD - Krug SMASH" 🤣

And it would great to hear from one of Utgar’s followers. Haven’t heard anything from that faction in new Scape.
