Today in HeroScape!

Today is National Family Day. Make an army centered around the MacDirk Clan and face them off against the Esenweins (the Addams Family of HeroScape).

Are there any other family groups in HeroScape?
 
It’s American Indian Day - show your support by playing Brave Arrow and the Mohican River Tribe. My son doesn’t need the excuse of a holiday to play them, it’s one of his favorite combos! Helps that we have two squads of Mohicans. He’s beat me more than once with them.
 
It's National Ghost Hunting Day (but probably better to hunt them at night). Send Ana Karithon and another unique hero equipped with a Symbol of Pelor up against Phantom Knights and Shades of Bleakewoode.

Today is Michaelmas, also known as the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels. I usually stay away from anything religious, but couldn’t resist this one - it celebrates the angels defeating Lucifer! Concan is your Saint Michael proxy against Taelord standing in for Lucifer. Taelord’s army includes Runa, Loviatäk, and the Minions of Utgar (total 490). Concan has Kelda, Raelin (V2), and two squads of Sentinels of Jandar (total 500). If you have enough snow, use it as clouds as this is the battle for heaven!
 
It’s Pet Tricks Day. Can you teach your pet to play HeroScape? Okay, maybe not. Which of the Beast characters in HS has the best trick?

BTW - I’m running polls on the Discord server with four heats to figure out best HS hair. Will post the results here when complete. (Sudema lost to Alastair MacDirk in the first heat.)

It’s Sting’s birthday (lead singer of The Police; it was a band, kids). Play Marro Stingers, Iskara Esenwein, and the Rechets of Bogdan against Sujoah and a Wyvern or two.
 
It’s Mean Girls Day. I think this is about the film, but we can have Raelin (V3) and Loviatäk beat up Kelda and Saylind. If you make a battlefield that looks like a high school, please post pics!
 
World Animal Day: HeroScape has bears, spiders, wolves, and horses. Am I missing any real-world animals? Do Onshu and Kita count as an owl and a fox? What’s your ideal 400 point army where every unit has a real-world animal in it?
 
On this day in 1813, William Henry Harrison (later the ninth President of the US) defeated Tecumseh's forces at the Battle of the Thames. Reenact this battle with the 4th Massachusetts Line against the Mohican River Tribe and the 10th Regiment of Foot. Brave Arrow stands in for Tecumseh and William Henry Harrison will be proxied by... Captain America! The battle took place in Canada (Surprise! Not that Thames!), so use lots of trees and snow on the battlefield.
 
It's National Mad Hatter Day. Which unit has the best hat/helmet/headgear in HS? (That one Warrior of Ashra qualifies here too!) Do you have a cool HeroScape hat? Post a pic!
 
It’s World Architecture Day. What’s the best map/build based on a piece of architecture? I don’t think we need to limit ourselves to real-world architecture; @Sherman Davies created a series of great superhero maps that include a lot of comic-inspired architecture.

On World Octopus Day we honor Ewashia, Master of Tides… by trying to kill her and her pets! (I’m still sore I lost to her when we played “The Wellspring’s Woe” scenario.)
 
It’s Cake Decorating Day! When our middle child was turning nine, he wanted a HeroScape-themed birthday party and I put together this thread which collected all the HeroScape cake designs I could find.

Here is a pic of what my wife made for that birthday (I wouldn’t let her use my HS figs as cake toppers!), a hex cake and chocolates made using a HeroScape tile as the mold:
