@Porkins, yes that is correct, the Shadow has been raised to same level as the terrain adjacent to it. I am going to run a test with Hoth Han on this map as well. I will be building it again tomorrow.

Here are my two play tests for this map. I did notice, the latest virtualscape version needs to have a couple of pillar bases removed and replaced with regular tile, I will make the modifications in the OP. I found the map to be very fun with the raised shadow tile. It made it a game of hide and shoot.:)

I ran one quick test on the updated map with the Rancor Monster. It was a bit difficult because the Rancor doesn't fit in between the pillars very well, but I liked how the map played. I'm planning to run another test on it soon...sometime...I keep thinking I'll have a break from RL to play some games :rolleyes:

I think the Rancor will struggle with moving about many maps due to it's size and shape. Still looking forward to having one on my game board anyway. I'll just be sure to only draft the Rancor on more open boards.

The Rancor, how big is that guy, can someone take a pic of him next to an AtSt or something. I think I'm going to have to custom sculpt that guy. I'm not paying that much for him, but I have to have him.:) @Porkins, post your results and we can sign you off as one of the play tests. Or, you can sign you off as one of the play tests.

@TREX is this the most up to date version?
The latest version is the one in the OP. The only thing I found that isn't right about it that I haven't changed yet is there are two column bases under the big glaciers, one on each side. Those need to be replaced with a tile piece each, which is easy to do with just grass tile.
EDIT: just looked at your link, the shadow tile sits on top of one tile underneath it making it the same level as the ice tiles next to it. Otherwise that looks awesome.

Where we at with this now? Waiting on one more play test report or do we have enough to call for a vote for Final Editing? I see we have two tests linked, I think Porkins actually had another one. However I know my test and Porkins test were before the shadow tiles were raised up one level to even ground. How many tests do we have since the shadow tile update?

I have played on it several times, but mine do not count so much because I am the LD. It is kind of Bothersome waiting though. Whenever you give me the go I will change it to finished in the OP. I think it looks fine with what I have seen.

I feel pretty comfortable with the map as well. It played pretty well when I used it, my only complaint was the shadow tiles not being used since they were all on low ground. We have since fixed that without changing anything else and we have had at least 3 tests (me, you, & Porkins) that I know of. It would get my vote for moving forward. Can't speak for the other members of BoSS though. Maybe mention them and ask them to chime in one whether or not they want to see another test.

I played another game on it last night for an Initial Test, but haven't been able to type it up yet. I like the map much better now. I think it's ready to go.

With Multiple play testing done by Yodaking Porkins, and myself, we are convinced everything on this map is good to go. I am aware of a base of wall needing replaced with regular tile under the larger glaciers, but that is an easy fix I will do when I get home. Give a thumbs up if you guys are ready for this one to be complete. If not, let us know. thanks.

I made a little game too on this map, but for now I don't have time to make any report... ^^

It was Cathars against Warforged + Q10. Very close game, and the map was very fun to play, I seen no problem with it. :)

If everyone thinks it's fine that's okay by me. Either way I should get a test on this game on Wednesday.

With all but one judge giving the ok, I will fix the VS file tonight(for the two rouge castle wall bases under the glaciers and we can make this one official.

Funny. @Porkins, here is the final version of the map with the rouge ones debunked.:)I took out any trace of pink and or red. Hoth Generator Ruins Final. What, I was in a hurry on my lunch break. I did not make another printable build file. I was wondering if someone else would want to make a pdf. All else aside, shall I change the name of the thread to make it official?

I don't currently have the tools for that. I imagine you can get that going? I'll change the OP to make it official.
 
Just a general statement here but we should get in the habit of holding official votes for each stage. It looks like we have informally moved into Final Editing with a majority expressing approval. For us to release the map and make it official we definitely need an official final vote though. It just makes sure each of the BoSS members knows what is going on and gets a chance to look things over. The more eyes we have on something the more likely we are to catch any mistakes. As for what to do next, we need a pretty BoSS themed PDF to be made, then reviewed and checked for errors before we can call the release vote. I brought up the PDF topic in the rules thread and a few people said they had the skills. Lets see who has the time to take this task on.
