The Book of Sgt. Drake Alexander (AoA)

My FLGS managed to procure a Drake for me.
He looks quite scrawny compared with his previous counterparts, and while the Thorian Katana's blade is just about the same length as before, that hilt is really short and it's missing the red fluff on the end.
I can't even blame Renegade for the lack of fluff or feathers or whatever it was, as the sculpt is from the Haslab.

But what about his face?

Grey, but not the worst I've seen. One side actually has a bit of peach skin color.

Are you going to repaint? I ask because I have the prospect of getting one myself.

I'll probably just touch up the face and arms. The exposed skin was not done well.

Hey guys. I recently just got to 'reprint' of Alexander. I am going to assume these are one of the first Alexanders that went on sale on Renegade's site. I know I ordered the Monday after they came on the site.

This is also my first figure I've gotten for AoA. I got to say the figure has some nice weight to it for such a small figure. I have to say his sword looks really small compared to his SotM figure. And he is much thinner and smaller than his other sculpts. Maybe it is because he has been on Valhalla for 10 years lol. Over all, it is a nice sculpt, but his sword is a bit bent. At least it looks like it. And look at the plastic it is in, I can see why it would be. Or maybe that is how it is supposed to be? I don't know.

His skin still has they greyish/blue tint that was mentioned above. I don't mind over all, but it is a little odd. I will say, he is supposed to be leading Jandar's northern army, so maybe his reason for the skin tone is because he has been in the snow for so long.

I like that he can fly now. Now he can fly with his girlfriend when they are ultimately reunited lol. It still seems like it is all Alexander can think about according from Sonlen in this month's free map/scenario.

Edit: Looking at the back of the box and an unboxing, his sword is supposed to be straight and it isn't. And then skin tone is indeed off. Honestly he looks like a zombie with that skin tone lol. The brown on the figure also seems to be much darker than depicted.

Edit 2: The card art also doesn't have the double arm anymore that was posted earlier on in this thread.

Generally that sort of limitation exists to prevent players from dropping grabbed figures into lava without risking hot lava death for their own figures.
Yeah, that would make sense. But the designers could've done something simpler and better. They could just say "place the grabbed figure on an empty adjacent land space", or "place the grabbed figure on an empty adjacent non-lava space". And that's frustrating.

His girlfriend??? The only 'ship I knew of in Valhalla was Einar/Kiova.

It is a joke we've always had. They aren't really together, but in the lore, there has been multiple times where Alexander seems to be attracted to her. Like... many times lol. Any time they are together in lore, there is always something there. Whether it is love or just friendship, we don't know. There is like 2 or 3 instances in the Journals. And then it seems to be reenforced in the new Sonlen Journal that just came out. As well as in his Bio where he knows she isn't really evil. Which we've seen in the web episodes.

I used to joke about Saylind, posting as her being a jealous girlfriend of Atlaga. Because he got used often but she rarely. So he'd often be in an army with other females. Her summoning spear rarely worked for me. Just recently I used her in a rare appearance, and when she could have won a game by summoning, she blew the roll yet again!

If Drake is already engaged, can he grapple a more distant figure and haul him/her in anyway? I'd say yes, but there's that rule about not attacking anyone but an adjacent enemy if one is present.

Yes. He isn't targeting the other person, he's choosing them.
