Sports: MLB

The Mets scarred 12yr old me for sure, but then 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018 happened.
Conversely, the 1986 Mets tricked 11-year old me into being a Mets fan. As for 2004, all us Yankee haters around the world owe your Red Sox forever for that one.

Both the greatest comeback and the greatest choke, ever. Always have it to fall back upon. :)

Look, when you first start paying attention to baseball in 2001 and you live in Arizona, you're gonna be a Diamondback fan for life.

~Dysole, rooting for the Guardians because it's been the longest since they won

Congrats to the LA Dodgers for beating my Mets and making it to the World Series. I hope they play just as hard against the Yankees and win it in four.

...and each game by a margin of at least 10.

Worst possible match-up for my 'dont' want to win' list, but the drop off from #1 to #2 is infinite. :)

I guess I'll root for the former New York team to beat the current New York team. Living in "flyover" country, it will be easy to ignore. :)

Okay, it took five games, but close enough.

Yeah, the way Jomboy and Jake reacted to that fan interference by those two morons sucked, but what can you expect? They're Yankee fans.

At least we can root for him again here, to a degree. Addition by subtraction as far as the AL East goes. :)

If the Mets didn't land him, I was rooting for him to go to either Boston or Toronto. Love the thought of all the prospects the Yankees traded for what essentially became a one-year rental.

Apologies to all the Mets fans. I'm getting flashbacks to the 2002 offseason.

~Dysole, probably remembering it more vividly because that was around when she started paying attention

Congrats to the Diamondbacks for landing Corbin Burnes. Glad to see an NL West team not rolling over for the Dodgers.

I'm so worried. Pitcher contracts terrify me because the latter half of those long contracts almost always seem to suck. Maybe we can do what we did with Greinke and flip him before the contract is up.

~Dysole, happy they're making the effort though

I get it, long term pitcher contracts seem to be anathema to the Mets front office as well. Not quite convinced they're always right about that; injuries and underperformance can make a lot of pitcher contracts look bad near the end, but special guys can be the exception, and Burnes has a decent chance of being one of those special guys.

Just checking in here. I've gotten interest from about eight people to join a fantasy baseball league and I was hoping to get to ten or twelve so let me know if you're interested.

~Dysole, informationally
