ScapeCon III: August 9-13, 2023

We don't know. Presumably it has, but my guess is not with the tables set up the way we need them to be.

Capacity limits have been discussed with the both of the hotel sales directors we have worked with. We are definitely pushing capacity, but we do have use of the two board meeting rooms this year. One will likely be used for the prize wall.
 
Attention ScapeCon Attendees:

We are sending preliminary menu and meal counts to the hotel this week. If you have any special meal needs (vegan, etc.) please pm me (not OEAO) asap.

Also, if you know that you will be arriving after Wed. night dinner (6-7pm) or if for some reason you will not attend any other meals, please pm me asap. We place the order for each meal several days prior to ScapeCon and we are only charged for each meal ordered.

All money saved is used to purchase additional prizes and/or to build the terrain pool for future Cons.

Last day to book hotel rooms using our block is Tuesday July 11. On July 12, rooms are released from the block. The hotel was at full occupancy during ScapeCon I. If you have not booked your room but plan to attend, book now to ensure you have a room. If your plans change you can cancel your room reservation either 24 or 48 hours before the reservation starts at no charge (I can't remember which but you can look it up).

Wednesday Dinner - Tailgate Buffet:
BBQ Chicken Breasts, Brisket; Fresh Seasonal Salad, Baked Beans, Potato Wedges; Dessert; Iced Tea, Water

Thursday:
Breakfast – Country Buffet
Scrambled Eggs with Cheddar Cheese, Home Fried Potatoes, Waffles, Sliced Fresh Fruit, Assorted Pastries, Bacon, Coffee.

Lunch – Tailgate Buffet
Pulled Chicken Sandwich, Salad, Cole Slaw, Macaroni and Cheese, Iced Tea, Water, Dessert.

Dinner - On the Boarder Buffet
Southwest Style Salad, Spanish Rice, Refried Beans, Spicy Nacho Cheese Dip, Seasoned Taco Beef, Fajita Chicken, Warm Flour Tortillas, Tortilla Chips, Toppings, Dessert, Iced Tea, Water.

Friday:
Breakfast – Country Buffet
Scrambled Eggs with Ham and Swiss Cheese, Home Fried Potatoes, French Toast, Sliced Fresh Fruit, Assorted Pastries, Bacon, Coffee.

Lunch – The Corner Deli Lunch Buffet
Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, Cheeses, Bread, Rolls, Salad, Toppings, Iced Tea, Water, Dessert.

Dinner – Taste of Italy Buffet
Soup du Jour, Italian Inspired Garden Salad, Chicken Parmesan, Cheese Manicotti, Sauteed Vegetables, Breadsticks, Dessert, Iced Tea, Water

Saturday:
Breakfast – Country Buffet
Scrambled Eggs with Tomato, Red Onion, Mozzarella, and Fresh Basil, Home Fried Potatoes, Waffles, Sliced Fresh Fruit, Assorted Pastries, Bacon, Coffee.

Lunch – Tailgate Buffet
Pulled Chicken Sandwich, Salad, Cole Slaw, Macaroni and Cheese, Iced Tea, Water, Dessert.

Dinner – Buffet
Mixed Green Salad; Beef Flank Steak, Teriyaki Salmon; Sauteed Squash, Rice Pilaf; Dessert, Iced Tea, Water

Sunday:
Breakfast – Country Buffet
Scrambled Eggs with Cheddar Cheese, Home Fried Potatoes, Pancakes, Sliced Fresh Fruit, Assorted Pastries, Bacon, Coffee.

Water Stations set up during the entire Con in both the gaming ballroom and the dining ballroom. Mid-Morning Coffee Thurs. -- Sun.

I'm posting this here instead of bothering Mike. Do you know if the Attendees list in the first post is up to date? I want a up-to-date count of people so I can get final numbers on the quantity of the Alternate-Art cards that I need to make.

The list here is close to up to date. I believe we are at 62 total paid including Tales of Valhalla for the two days.

But feel free to bother OEAO as he has left the bat cave and rejoined civilization.

I need to provide final meal counts to the hotel at the end of the week. If anyone knows that they will be missing any meals for any reason please let us know so that we are not charged. We of course already know if you are a no breakfast option. Thanks.

Also, OEAO and I will be arriving at the hotel around 1pm on Tuesday. We will have other games with us. If anyone is in the area (I know some people are staying around after GenCon) please feel free to join us for gaming on Tuesday. We may be able to get into the ballroom, but if not we can game in the bar, no problem.

I'm also planning to be there on Tuesday. Would definitely join in if games are happening.

I couldn't think of a better first Con experience, both my brother and I had an incredible time and will certainly be back next year.

That might explain why I'm feeling sick today :eek: thanks for the heads up! Wishing everyone a speedy recovery
 
Thanks to all the organizers that make this possible. A great time with friends, old and new. I’m feeling only slightly beaten down by my losses 🤣, but otherwise healthy. Wish everyone a swift return to 💯.
 
I’m so happy Levi and I were able to make it out! I know we both had an amazing time! Definitely looking forward to next year! Tons of fun games, and I’m planning on writing up battle report for everything I can remember! It will be a great thing to do while I get well haha. Wishing everyone else a swift recovery! Thanks again for such an amazing scapecon experience!

Yeah I had a mild cough Sunday morning, and then on the plane back to California it got worse.
I'm feeling much better now though
 
Thanks to all attendees of ScapeCon III. Here is an excerpt from an email I received yesterday from the hotel sales director:

**I’m so excited to have your group back again next year! We seriously love having everyone here, all our staff is still raving about how wonderful everyone is, and Ramon said you were chanting on Sunday for him – I think you’ve made his week already – so Thank You!!**

I will be signing the contract for ScapeCon IV this week and we will have a full announcement regarding 2024 soon. The hotel room rate will stay the same as it was this year, I believe in part due to our group's treatment of hotel staff. We will also have use of both board rooms and free use of the screen and projector. Thank you all.

Contract fully executed for ScapeCon IV. Dates are Aug. 7 -- Aug. 11 which is the week after GenCon. Full announcement once Mike is feeling better.
