Where to start! So many people deserve credit for an insane convention, and many of them in multiple roles. So I'm just going to type and see where it goes.
First and foremost, Mike for getting this thing started five amazing years ago. Obviously we wouldn't have any of this without him, and I can't fathom the amount of effort he puts in every year. He's the foundation, has gotten all these other wonderful people involved in all the right places, and even TDs! Additional credit for events, maps, and prizes.
Similarly, George for being there from the beginning setting us up with a great hotel and introducing us to Ramón. Not to mention handling any hotel-related issues, major or minor, that pop up from year to year.
Speaking of Ramón, special thanks to fellow creators Ryan and Bre for sharing the vision of his honorary custom promotional unit several years ago. To everyone who contributed to design, playtesting, and wording, including Adam for his late in the process suggestions. To Tommy, Nathan, Ryan, and Chandler for the photography, graphic design, printing, and logo design on this and all the other promo cards. And the man himself for signing many of them!
Ryan and Bre deserve mention again, along with Jack, for running the prize room, including pricing items and running down attendees to make sure we get our swag.
Thanks to everyone (even Renegade) who contributed swag this year, from door prizes to prize table. Biggest shoutout of all to Master Roshi for the mind-boggling quantity and quality of sculpts and displays available. Just an incredible showcase of artistry and talent. I'm pumped to have been able to add the lion Swog to my collection!
Master Roshi, Jack, Ryan, and lao also helped roguescaper give tips during his awesome painting session. I enjoyed learning from roguescaper and am very happy with the Decker I got to bring home!
Earl of Sandwich, Johnny Frisbee, GucciiBoost get shouts for the events schedule (as well as the Elder clan for their help on future version(s) of the Marvel event). GameBear for maps. Mike, Matthew, Samuel, and BiggaBullfrog for streaming for the rest of the community to be able to enjoy the convention. Maybe next year I'll do some commentary.
Ken, Bre, Gordon, David, and Garrett were awesome TDs. Things wouldn't run nearly as smoothly without their efforts. Ken's brief use of his notecards was appreciated. Thanks to David especially for his competitive expertise in creating the rules and regulations documents.
Thanks to everyone who played! I had some games that didn't go my way, but by no means did I have any bad games. Everyone I played was a blast and we had a lot of close and memorable games. Thanks also to everyone who played in...
T H U N D E R D O M E. I'm again blown away by the reception it got. I'm so glad everyone (except Adam) enjoyed it and was pleased both to see how often there was a line or crowd at the arena and to hear the number of shouts of victory or defeat from across the room. Alexandre can't be thanked enough for his help with this event. It may have happened without him, but his numerous efforts easily made it 100 times better!
And last but not least Chris for the outstanding heroscape.org. Even outside ScapeCon it's an immense resource for the community and I use it all the time. At the convention, he does a great job troubleshooting and keeping us going. So thanks again.
I know I haven't given out nearly as much praise as everyone involved deserves. If I got anyone wrong, or if there's anyone I missed, please comment!
