We've already thrown around some ideas for a seven part "choose your own adventure" style scenario campaign and some map ideas as well for this set. I figured the information could be amassed here and we could use this thread to develop this portion of the set.

Outside Xavier Mansion
Danger Room
Sentinel Factory
Genoshia
Asteroid M
City Streets

Yep, I think that's exactly what we've been talking about. I know Griff's made possible maps for all of these (though the City Streets he translated into two different maps - The Statue of Liberty and The Mutant Free Clinic). I've also made a map for the Sentinel Factory.
We should try to get some of these posted in the next few days - overall organization, unit work, and of course the DC wrap up should take priority, though.

I think one part could be a mutant picking sides. Probably the city streets map. Maybe since Villains seem they will be stronger than heroes, it should be Toad or Pyro. Considering the movies, Pyro seems the most likely choice.

I'm not at all sold on the villains being stronger than the heroes. The heroes, with Prof X., Cyclops, etc., will have synergy over the villains in spades.

I've also been thinking about the select-a-quest campaign and have some ideas.

I envision the first battle to be:

City Streets (Or whatever we decide to call it)

Team 1: X-Men (Without Prof X) + 1 or 2 Sentinels
Team 2: Brotherhood (Without Magneto) + 1 or 2 Sentinels

Basically, a battle between Brotherhood and X-Men is interupted by Sentinels

The Sentinels start in the middle of the board and are considered friendly and may not attack each other.

Whichever side wins gets to advance their story.

I'm not quite sure if our "brotherhood" is complete enough to really get a full story treatment that way, though. Juggernaut is really a separate entity, so you're down to four truly "Brotherhood" characters.

Not entirely true logic, Bats. Just because the Brotherhood wins, dosen't mean it wouldn't be Wolverine's ending.

Maybe it's sacrilege, but if we really want a coherent "Brotherhood" approach to this set, we'll need to consider swapping Juggernaut out for Blob ...

I thought I was alone on this. :D Juggernaut belongs in a Wave, in my opinion.

I said it from the beginning that Juggernaut was too powerful to be matched up with Angel ... but it'd require a unanimous vote at this point. So you guys can feel free to propose the change, and I'll vote for it, but you'll need to get the other 5 on board too!

That is what I came up with as well, except the city streets is a "Free Clinic for Mutants".
I have all of the VS files that I created for a rough draft, but I cant figure out how to share them without being a Site Supporter. However, I can show you the tiered campaign that I drafted.

That looks great, Griff, but do you think it might be easier to develop the stories first?

Yes. :) I worked on some story angles, maps, and the scenario guild line. It is all a bit too early I know, but I was bored and I also wanted to have something rough to work with down the road when it was needed.

I'd love to hear your ideas. I had some ideas of my own that I'd like to throw at you after I read yours.

You guys should do a little emailing to each other, sounds like. :) Speaking of, when the time comes, feel free to email me your rough maps, Griff, and I can get them posted here.
I figure that the story will end up being someone contingent on our final directions with the unit cards, though (and what we decide to make for destructible object cards and glyphs for this set as well!)

I don't see any reason why we couldn't hash it out here. Unless you want to make the scenarios a surprise, Bats.

Oh, we could, sometimes it's just faster with email. Go ahead and share some of your story concepts, guys. I'm happy to let you two hash out the basics and then help with the actual text and the refining of the concepts as they develop. Seemed to work pretty well last time around.

We could talk about this over there too, but is it really something we feel we need to be hush hush about? I'm really all about doing the majority of the work here, especially now that we have our bright and shiny sub forum.

I'm just saying if we need to keep something quiet, Google Wave would be easier than email.

Oh, for sure. It wasn't so much needing to keep something quiet as it was thinking that it was something those two could work on more cleanly just between the two of them. But keeping it on here is fine too.

Here's a map I built with Asteroid M in mind. It's nothing really fancy as I tried to keep it basic with 1 ROTV, 1 RTTFF and 1 FOTA. I tried to make it seem sunk in somewhat by building up the rock terrain a couple levels around the base of the walls. You kind of have to download it, make it 3D and spin it around to get a feel for it.

I figured there's four ways in on foot. It has one really high point a neat scuttle hole at the top of one ladder to the second level and some trees for some cover. I figured to throw some glyphs in the the building with one of them being a Device type glyph that Magneto is wanting to retrieve. Both sides can come in from either end of the board and have at it to see who retrieves the device by bringing it back to the starting zone.

I kind of thought that if Magneto's team gets it, move on to scenario A (maybe Genosha?). If X-Men retrieve it, move on to scenario B, ?

It was just a thought. Ignore if it doesn't apply.

I'll let you and Griff pow wow about Asteroid M. The version I saw from him is "M" shaped ...
