I am super excited to announce the Heroscape Mystery Masquerade! This will be a special stream event held from Oct. 27-30, hosted by RyGuyPlaysGames on his YouTube channel. (Link.) Streams will start at 6:30 Central Time each evening.
What is the Heroscape Mystery Masquerade? I'm so glad you asked! In this event, we have invited 8 players to anonymously play a tournament. They have all been given fake usernames to use, and none of them have known who the other players are. I have recorded these games, and RyGuy will stream them on his channel for everyone to watch and try to guess who is who.
Why is this posting in Contests and Forum Games? What another wonderful question! I will be providing prizes for participants in the stream, and will give more prizes based on increased participation! First, the winner of the tournament itself gets a prize. Next, the person who gets the most correct guesses in the who's who contest on the stream will get a prize. I will also do an additional person for each 10 entries we get. (So 1-10 entries = 1 winner, 11-20 entries = 2 winners, 21-30 entries = 3 winners, etc.) (There will be a separate pool for the players of the tournament, so they will be able to fill out and enter their own guesses and have a winner, but I will only pick one winner from that group since they obviously should have at least one guess correct.) Finally, I will also have a general raffle prize, where out of all of the entries I will randomly select one, regardless of correct guesses, to win a NIB Heroscape pack!
Ask questions and discuss the event here or in our forum on the Heroscapers Online Discord server. (If you have questions I will see them on Discord faster than here.)
This will be so much fun, and I can't wait for these games to go live. Please join the stream and participate in trying to sus out the players! I have been over the moon watching these games (some of the best games I have recorded will be in the mix here), and have loved watching the players' deductive processes so far. I can't wait for everyone to get in on it!
Additional details:
Specific prizes TBA. I will be doing gift cards for all prizes other than the one NIB pack for the raffle.
The fake usernames players have been using are:
Deadeye Dan, Deathwalker 7000, Dund, Kee-Mo-Shi, Kelda, Master Woo, Nilfheim, Parmenio
The players in the tournament are:
Boromir96, Chris Perkins, dok, Dysole, kevindola, Knight of Light, Sir Heroscape, vegietarian18
In the announcement image, the players have chosen the costumes for their characters to wear. (Kee-Mo-Shi is currently a silhouette because they have not given me a costume yet.)

Spoiler Alert!
First off, this event is largely a product of a brainstorm conversation that happened with superfrog and some others in various Discord channels. My organization of it has also been heavily inspired/influenced by T90's Hidden Cup tournament in the Age of Empires II community.
I invited the participants for the tournament largely based on who I had remembered participating in the conversations already, as well as other well-known online Heroscape players. Not everyone I invited said yes. There are also several others I wish I could have invited, but I kept it to an 8 player maximum for the first go around. (Would love to do this again with 16.)
I functioned as the middle man for the games and scheduling so that players could set things up without knowing who their opponent is. After each game, I asked the players who they thought they played. They had to make these guesses without knowing the other players in the pool, so some guesses came from outside of it.
The tournament structure was to divide the 8 players into two groups of 4 players (done randomly). Then each group of 4 played Round Robin games (3 rounds) to determine a finalist from each bracket. (Finalists are determined first by win/loss record, then by remaining points on the board (minus any remaining opponent's figures on the board) as a tie-breaker if necessary.) This makes 13 games total, each player playing at least 3 games.
The tournament format was Delta TriPod with Strikes. Players brought 3 pods: 225 Points (Delta), 10 figures. VC and up to Wave 2 of AoA was allowed. There was then a ban/draft process out of the pods. (Same process as OHS and Scape Summit did earlier this year.)
Maps used were:
Round 1: Apocalypse Now
(Lorja Ivor, Yngvild)
Round 2: Origin (Sola Astrid, Wannok)
Round 3: Wyrmwalk (Valda, Dagmar) (Belt of Giant Strength, Ring of Protection)
Players are not allowed to disclose games they've played, win/loss records, etc. They have not been allowed to outrightly reveal their identities, but have been welcome to tease or misdirect.
