Heroscape FanFiction Collaboration - REGISTRATION CLOSED

Well met!

Not sure of my limitations here. Following my fluttering feather:

1. May it enter the monolith and disrupt or destroy it on its own, or

2. May it show a weakness such that a Tanto may be driven into it to the same effect?
Hey man. So you're character doesn't really know what will happen when he puts the feather in monolith. Perhaps nothing at all, or nothing yet, or maybe it will help Forsyth gain a foothold (or featherhold) on her birthplace once again easing the difficulty of the encounter.

The truth is I CAN'T tell you what will happen because that is meta gaming. Sir Kae doesn't know. He'll have to find out.

What I CAN tell you is that there are no impediments to you approaching the monolith and placing the feather in it's indent.

I'm new to this. I think my last post is in the ball park . . .
Yup! That action is totally fine. Remember, you say what you DO. The dungeon/game master says what HAPPENS.

There is some leeway involved when there's a LOT of monsters. Like you say you cut down a couple then "attempt to gut the lich" or whatever. Hacking apart chump mobs in your action is fine for the story because I can always replace them if I needed those particular ones.

But then there's that one time you said Sir Kae charged into the mobs hauling the woman and cut them up and set her free. That's an illegal move for a few reasons:

1. It's multiple actions instead of one.
2. That group was already out of sight (you can only interact with mobs in line of sight, or who were in sight before becoming invisible).
3. You can't say he sets her free because that's saying what happened.

Don't worry about it too much. Before we started, we knew there would be confusion especially from people unfamiliar with the format. We're focused on helping each other through the process. No judgement.

Thanks for trying to improve!

Uh oh. I got a bit sidetracked guys. I’ll post up the next narration in the morning.

Technically the round should end this morning, but we've only got one response. Let's extend it to the weekend to give everyone time to get in if they want to. I know it's a busy season with the upcoming holiday.

From days of long ago.
From unchartered regions of Valhalla...
Comes a legend...
The legend of Forsyth
A mighty god
Loved by good, feared by evil
As Forsyth's word spread
Peace was felt throughout the realm

Until a new but old, horrible menace threatened the land
Forsyth's love was needed once more
This is the story
Of the brave explorers
Specially chosen to combat the darkness
And end the scourge of Guilty McCreech

{My apologies for the delay and to the writers of the Votron theme}

Nice! You're a real poet!

Heads up everyone just wanted to drop a line here real quick. I messaged Tornado after the previous narration and basically said "make it up," referring to the banishing rite. I used his words (of which I had no part in writing) to create the latest narration. Just making sure credit goes where it's due. Thanks for writing the Tornado! It helped a lot!

The post in this thread is a riff on the Voltron theme from the 80s cartoon.
The rite is a tweaked version of something I found online that hit a lot of the right tones, I just made it work better for the setting. The dragon bit was part of another rite and felt right so I added that in.
So not all my original writings for full disclosure.

That's cool! Hey man. The whole prophecy thing you've read about a few times now, bits and pieces anyway, I didn't write that. ChatGPT everyone! Haha. I just made some changes to it that fit the plot.

To clarify. The final decision about whether to accept Forsyth's proposal is entirely Sprague's. The discussion bit is more about giving all the character's a chance to engage and develop interactions between characters. Are they in agreement on everything? Or do they differ? Do they agree with each other on certain things but for different reasons? How do they react to the presence of a literal goddess walking around among them, flesh and blood on a mortal plain? That like, never happens.

Also feel free to interact with Forsyth on other subjects. I can't promise the goddess is all knowing, but she may provide some useful hints or wisdom that can help you down the road. I'm not going to keep her around long (3-5 days), she's got important goddess of light duties she's got to get back to.

Hey guys. I know that last encounter with the goddess was mostly about Jerrack. I'm trying to incorporate certain parts of the story that are more engaging for certain players to give those players an opportunity to role-play more. If you felt left out let me know (that wasn't the intention). We're moving on now to the next scenario of the campaign. There should be one or two more after this (3-4) total, and each player will have an opportunity for more focused role-play (as Nelson with Guilty and Jerrack with Forsyth).

I messed up a bit on the voting part fellas. You're welcome to engage with each other for the following three days OR vote to continue. If 3 days go by without the vote, play will proceed to the next destination.

Sorry bout that. It's been a while since we did a vote. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that's the stage we're in.

Alrighty folks, we're moving again! Next narration will be Wednesday morning. Thanks for your patience!
