Help with valiant army

Hi I'm new here and was wondering if you could help me with an army i'm building. So far it's:

2x/3x KoWeston 140/210
2x/3x 4th Mass. 140/210
Sir Gilbert 105
Eldgrim? 30

TOTAL 485

It's going to be all-valiant, and i need to know whether to field 2 or 3 of the commons and whether to add eldgrim. i could use Finn and 2 squads of each, but what unique could I power up? i need help! :confused:
 
Welcome to the site! I'd put in 3x 4th Mass, but then again, I don't have Sir Gilbert. You don't have much use for Eldgrim; I'd get rid of him, and if you're playing 500 points, you'd have 55 points left. In that case, there's many units worth considering.

2x KoW 140
2x 4th Mass. 140
Sir Gilbert 105
Alastair MacDirk 110

TOTAL: 495
 
Another fun all valiant build is 4x 4th and Charos for 490 points. If you want to keep knights in it then I would stick with your last army. Sentinels are also Valiant and are a fun option as well.
 
You could also ditch either Alistair or Gilbert for AE.
You could also try 4xKnights of Weston-280, AE-110, Alistair or Gilbert-110/105.
 
If he wants to keep his army valiant he can't use the AE, they're disciplined. And not having 4th in an army means you really don't have to keep your army valiant anyway.

Is a solid base. That exact army took 2nd or third at a very competitive event in Minnesota (and beat me 3 times when I played Arrow Gruts that day). Add Eldgrim if you feel like it and the points allow it. He's great tech against Deathreavers running for glyphs. With your first two on Knights, you'll get at least one glyph whether you win or lose the first initiative roll (overextend if you lose). I wouldn't add Alastair to the army unless you were playing at least 565 points and you already had 20 hexes worth of squad figures. Both Sir Gilbert and Alastair are great spots for Eldgrim. The biggest trick to using Sir Gilbert is to use him for his movement bonus primarily.

Seems like a very solid 600 pointer.
 
What about

I thought someone was going to post so why don't I. Seems like a fun army to play.
 
Whenever I play with my stinger team vs. Vydar is the man, his only troops are (usually, on a good day) 4x 4th Mass and Raelin. He has good thinking though; people will generally target the most dangerous target, which in this case is Raelin. Raelin. If she is killed, then he has an all-valiant army, which the 4th Mass benefit by. I have definitely found myself in some tricky situations when there isn't any height or jungle brush after I kill Raelin and then the 4th Mass surround me. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I hope it provides some ideas.

I have used this army many times, and you can add Concan, another sentinels and you have 785, then you can take Cavalry for a good 900 point army. This can be very powerful, and has taken down good armies.
