Elffy's Battle Reports - NEW 10/21

Heroscape Elffy

so CUTE when he's bitter
Greetings folks.

With the return of Scape, I have rejoined the ranks of tournament enjoyers. Though I have been away for awhile, upon my return I was happy to find a link to all of my armies played in tournaments and their results linked in my signature. I have decided to keep this up to date as much as possible, and will be recapping future tournaments here!

What better way to start than with Friday of GenCon 2024?

GenCon - Battle of Uniques
400 points, uniques only
Army
:ullar:Ulginesh
:ullar:Chardris
:ullar:Emirroon
:ullar:Arkmer
:ullar:Kyntela Gwyn
:utgar:Isamu

I'm very familiar with the Glass Cannon that is the Elf Wizards. I don't think there's any group I've played more games with in my home games than with these ones, even when testing for tournaments a decade+ ago. Order Marker management doesn't exist as long as you protect Ulginesh, but my goodness does this team go downhill VERY quickly if you have to start manually placing OMs.

Round 1 on Compact (Superfrog)
Glyphs: Rannveig (wind), Dagmar (initiative)
Opp: Demetrius
:utgar:Cyprien, :utgar:Sonya, :utgar:Sir Hawthorne, :utgar:Iskra, :utgar:Rechets, :utgar:Isamu

Demetrius got out quick, leading with Iskra. I moved Arkmer up for a shot (missed), then Emirroon failed a summon. Iskra came in, summoned on her first attempt, Lethal Stung Emirroon, and halved Ulginesh. I was able to kill Iskra and a Rechet on the crackback, but at the end of Round 1, he mobilized Cyprien. I was able to take out one more Rechet in Round 1, and that was it for the game. Cyprien landed 19s on Chilling Touch for both Ulginesh and Chardris. He took down my last hero in the middle of round 3 after about 10 minutes of play. Ouch.

0-1

Round 2 on Invested (Flash_19)
Glyphs: none
Opp: no show
My opponent no showed, so I got a free win. A dub is a dub in this house.

1-1

Round 2.5 on Ritual (VYDARXLIII)
Glyphs: none
Opp: Guru
:einar:Izumi Samurai, :einar:Kaemon Awa, :einar:Tagawa Samurai, :utgar:Zettian Guards, :jandar:Eldgrim
Guru was my table neighbor and his opponent also did not show up, so we played a round for fun. If Round 1 could be summarized by my opponent's crazy luck on dice rolls, the opposite can be said for this one. I simply could not miss, hitting all of 18, 19, and 20 on summon rolls to summon three elves each time. The only casualty I had all game was Arkmer, and Chardris took two wounds. That's it.

1-1

Round 3 on Origin (Flash_19)
Glyphs: Yadulkia (disengage), Haukeland (heal)
Opp: Chris
:jandar:Airborne Elite, :utgar:Bok-Bur-Na, :utgar:Marcu, :unsure:Knaves of the Silver Scimitar, :utgar:Exiles of the Sundered Sea
Chris and I had a really good back and forth. We traded some blows early, but a well timed heal glyph and BBN was healed all the way. I chipped away best I could, but was done in by a late-game AE drop and an initiative loss that caused A LOT of damage from grenades. While I lost in the end, I did get the pleasure of Arkmer taking out three Exiles in one turn with Engagement Strike (14, 8, 14, 20). He only had one Exile, one AE, BBN, and Marcu left at the end.

1-2

Overall, I played just fine. Rounds 1 and 2.5 were definitely decided by a lot of luck, but I think I was definitely fighting uphill against Cyprien in Round 1 and would have lost regardless. It was the one figure I feared for the Wizards in testing. Guru just got on the receiving end of my insane luck, our game would have ended up more like Round 3 and been a back and forth if his samurai could even get going. I was mostly disappointed my name didn't get drawn for one of the Master Set giveaways they were doing every round, but it was GREAT to be back and surrounded by lots of fellow 'Scapers and the cheers for the swingy rolls.

GenCon - 20th Anniversary Event

Army
:einar:Kaemon Awa
:utgar:Krug
:vydar:Krav Maga Agents
:ullar:Deadeye Dan

After a subpar performance on Friday with the turtle pod, I went back to the hotel knowing I needed to do something else or I was just not going to have a good time. So what to do other than use an army comprised of 75% units that I've never used before?

Look, I know how good KA and Krug are. I've been on the receiving end of a Krug more than once and KA used to be THE go-to endgame piece for a lot of folks back in the day. Krav are Krav, they're never not solid units. And I didn't have a lot else to choose from, so I decided why not go with a unit I just bought six weeks ago and have never played? Good ol' Dan.

I wasn't in this for much, I knew with 80+ participants and a cut to Top 8 that I would have to go 5-1 at worst to make it, and from the rumblings I heard the day before, there would be a lot of Bears, and I didn't have mine yet, so I figured I would AT LEAST have some fun and maybe get a lucky snipe in.

Round 1 on Vigil GenCon Edit (Ulysses)
Glyphs: Yadulkia (disengage), Dagmar (initiative)
Opp: Kai

:jandar:Tarn Viking Warriors, :utgar:Kee-Mo-Shi, :utgar:Iskra, :utgar:Rechets, :utgar:Krug
Glyphs weren't really a factor in this match, but my d20 certainly was. I won every initiative. Early Kravs tore through the Tarn, Iskra failed her summon and then died (again), Kee-Mo-Shi did manage to Toxic Skin a Krav, and his Krug smashed the hell out of Kaemon, but my final Krav was able to take down Krug without mine needing to get involved at all.

1-0

Round 2 on Wool (Dunedain)
Glyphs: Yadulkia (disengage), Dagmar (initiative)
Opp: Andrew

:utgar:Cyprien, :utgar:Sonya, :aquilla:Ewashia, :aquilla:Kita, :aquilla:Onshu, :utgar:Isamu
I was initially worried about Ewashia, having witnessed them dominate the day before, but the Krav did Krav things, Ewashia and Onshu fell pretty quickly. Then, seeing three OMs on Cyprien, I had some flashbacks to yesterday and those two 19s that took down my full health heroes. Oh, wait, that's an 8. And a 6. Oh, that 12 killed a Krav. By the time Cyprien's swords took down Kaemon, I was at a 7-life Krug vs Isamu on Dagmar, a half-dead Cyprien, and Sonya chilling in the start zone with their dog. After a full round of the Vanish Dance, Krug was able to take down Isamu, who had a the first OM, and advance on Cyprien, who had taken refuge in the middle of the map. After finally catching him, Krug took him down easily before advancing on the heart-broken Sonya and finishing the game off.

2-0

At this point, they gave a short announcement about giving away the Paint Masters for AOA Wave 1, and then about a 15 minute bathroom/food break. I think they also saw that I was 2-0 with no Renegade Units, and they took that personally and had to ice me.

Round 3 on Wool (Dunedain)
Glyphs: Dagmar (initiative), Quillivon (move)
Opp: Sam

:vydar:Krav Maga Agents, :jandar:Alastair, :einar:Kaemon Awa, :utgar:Zettian Guards
We had a KMA fight in Round 1. Dan, having failed one headshot and one Ullar Enhanced Rifle so far, nailed one of his agents, followed by a guard. Did y'all know that 10 is a lot of spaces? Unfortunately, skulls are good on attacks and not defense, so I lost my KMA rather quickly. He held the initiative glyph most of the game with one of his two remaining agents, though it wouldn't have mattered as his rolls were just higher than mine without the +8. My Kaemon Awa managed to take down the other agent and Zettian, but Alastair finished him off. The lowlight of the match for me was easily Alastair coming in, rolling 4 skulls to a previously-uninjured Krug's zero shields, then overextending and rolling 5 skulls to Krug's also zero shields, knocking me out of the game. Womp womp.

2-1

Okay, not bad, one loss is still Top 8 eligible.

Round 4 on Origin (Flash_19)
Glyphs: Yadulkia (disengage), Quillivon (move)
Opp: Board Hero

:jandar:Frostclaw Paladins, :jandar:Irene, :jandar:Eldgrim, :vydar:Krav Maga Agents, :vydar:Otonashi, :utgar:Marcu, :utgar:Isamu
Oh look, my first time playing a game today without the initiative glyph (and my last, spoiler). Now it's time. My first foray into fighting the Bears. They don't look that...they have two life? Weird for a squad, but oh well, that's not too...and four defense? Oh, alright.

I understand why the (eventual) Top 8 (spoiler?) was all Bears. These things are nuts. The KMA took a good position early, but obviously when Eldgrim overextends to get the move glyph, giving three bears a free move 5 on Turn 1 BEFORE they take a turn is really scary. I do think KA and Krug are pretty decent counters to the Frostclaws AND Knight Irene, and I may have even stood a chance (probably not won) if I hadn't botched my OM placement and put 1 AND 2 on a 2/3 strength KMA and then losing initiative. Board Hero got three turns in a row, and that's REALLY hard to come back from in the best of situations (which this was not). Counterstrike and the threat of Wounded Smash did make him hesitate before attacking, especially when the Bears ran up to KA, but in the end, I put myself in a hole that I just couldn't come back from.

2-2

So the Bears are strong, the rumors of a Bear-Heavy meta were pretty well informed.

Round 5 on Ritual (VYDARXLIII)
Glyphs: Dagmar (initiative), Quillivon (move)
Opp: Mythic/Dave

:vydar:Krav Maga Agents, :jandar:Tarn Viking Warriors, :jandar:Airborne Elite, :jandar:Sgt Drake 3.0 (still just a sgt? kinda seems like after 20 years he would have gotten a promotion)

This one started like Round 3, with a Krav fight in the middle. I did manage to grab the move glyph and mobilized Dan, Krug, and KA. Honestly, I think I had the game won at the point. Dan was able to take down an opposing Krav, and I decided to use mine to engage his. We traded one-for-one, and Dan took down the third, plus a Tarn. This was easily his most useful game. He didn't kill Drake with the head shot, but Krug smashed, though the final wound did come on a Leaving Engagement attack. The AE never dropped, so I essentially got to play against an army that was only 75% strength.

3-2

Luckily I had a friend drop off a sandwich for me, so I could crush that. If one of my group wasn't running an event in the FEPH, I think I would have dropped here. I was kinda tired, still hungry, and disheartened by having not won a master set. Oh well, we push on.

Round 6 on Vigil GenCon Edit (Ulysses)
Glyphs: Dagmar (initiative), Haukeland (heal)
Opp: Bees (seven of them)

:vydar:Krav Maga Agents, :vydar:Laglor, :utgar:Iskra, :utgar:Rechets, :utgar:Warden 816

Despite being seven against one, the Bees in a Trenchcoat and I had the same opening move. Surprise, it was a KMA Gunfight in the middle of the map. While they held initiative for a majority of the map, and did use the heal on Iskra, I did end up taking her down before the summoning. Love me a good free 50 points. Their lone Krav took down mine and KA surprisingly quickly, and then held the Initiative Glyph until an incorrect guess for where my OMs were led to placing Warden in Krug's path. A five-wound Krug took down the Warden and Laglor, while their lone agent tried to pistol whip Dan. Dan held on long enough for Krug to come all the way back and finish the job.

4-2

Overall, big fan of the army I picked. Was Dan a good choice? Depends what you mean by "good". He was fun, and the fact that he COULD have made a very swingy move makes me really want to play him again. I love Krug, I love KA, the Agents are just really good (when you roll any shields at all). I definitely will be using some of these guys in future events.

And while I didn't Top 8 (I placed 14th out of 85), I did get my name drawn for a Paint Master, and walked out of there with one of the Knaves of the Silver Scimitar, so I think I legally have to make that squad my entire personality from now on.

Welcome back! Sounds like fun. I like how you call them opps. :johnwoo:

What did you think about Renegade's tournament software/sign-up experience? I need to go in and make an account and see how all of the bear players did.

Once you know how to locate the full pairings list, it's actually a pretty decent little website. I wish there was an app, but one of the employees of the company that made the website was there and he said they have no plans to do that right now.

Hey good to place a face with a handle...I didn't realize it during our game. AE is a two-edged sword. They did not drop in my first few games but I ended up not needing them. I definitely needed them in this game! ;)

A pleasure. I'm sure at future events I'll remember to ask folks if they're here and want to be mentioned, but in all the excitement, it slipped my mind!

Army
:vydar: Gladiatrons x3
:vydar: Blastatrons x2
:jandar: Raelin ROTV
:utgar: Isamu
:utgar: Marcu

I have played Glads/Blasts in two previous tournaments, going a combined 5-5. I've also been victim to a Spider_Poison loss that he piloted, so I felt confident in how to play this team. The strategy was pretty simple: R1 OM1, move Raelin, R1 OM2+, never put an order marker on a card that isn't Blastatrons again.

None of the maps had names next to them, so I'm doing my best. I could only find two of the names. Every map also had at least one treasure glyph (6+ on the d20 to pick it up for Unique Heroes only) and since it was Tree Town Open, every tree, including Evergreens, use the TJ tree rules. End of Round points were determined by (Points You Killed) minus (Your Points Dead), no partial scoring.

Round 1 on a map with a two hex wide bridge in the middle, over some water with glyphs on either edge of the map
Glyphs: Holdir
(unique hero attack +1), Brandar (before OM placement, move one of your figures 5 spaces), Potion of Healing
Opp: Tim

:utgar: Minions of Utgar x3, :utgar: Loviatak, :utgar: Raelin AOA

First match of the day, the bridge was very tall. It took quite a lot to get my Glads up to the bridge. With some 5 move Minions staring me down (did anyone else forget they have SIX defense?), it was kind of a challenge. He held Brandar for three rounds, moving Loviatak, a minion, and Raelin all for free. I had to make some dives with a few Blasts to engage to help out with the homing beacons. I had a few good turns in a row taking down two minions each and also Raelin. The final two rounds, however, featured some incredible defense rolls by Tim, some lackluster defense rolls by me, ending in an L. I managed to take down all but one minion and Loviatak, but not for lack of trying.
0-1 (-195)

Okay, not ideal, but I had a really good first round. I made some pretty optimal positionings of Glads, used Raelin's defensive aura to my advantage as often as possible. Some bad dice rolls happen, and that's why we play every round out! I think it could have easily gone the other way, but I was pretty happy about my performance.

Round 2 on lava map with a large pillar in the middle that wasn't lava and each start zone had a ROTV ruin in it.
Glyphs: Yadulkia
(disengage lol), Wannock (wound)
Opp: Alex Davy (Renegade designer)
:einar: Kaemon Awa, :einar: Tagawa Samurai, :einar: Izumi Samurai, :einar: Tomoe Gozen, :utgar: Exiles of the Sundered Sea, :utgar: Marcu, :utgar: Isamu

Alex said he was using a team that depicted the three eras of Heroscape: Past, Present, and Custom. Unforutnately for him, the map was not condusive to a melee army, as there was no road and the middle of the map had most elevation changes at 2. He did charge ahead and use some black powder to take down my Raelin in the first round, but with my Marcu speeding out to grab Wannock, and my Blasts getting to the top of the chimney in the middle, it was easy pickin's. I ended up only losing on squad of each in addition to Raelin.

1-1 (+95)

Round 3 on Pure Gold (superfrog)
Glyphs: Yadulkia
(disengage lol), Holdir (unique hero attack +1)
Opp: Carter
:ullar:
Greenscale Warriors x3, :vydar: Braxas, :utgar: Fen Hydra

Wowzers, what a terrible matchup for me. Braxas took the bridge, and that was pretty much the game. Carter rolled EXCEPTIONALLY well on the d20, I think he only missed 4 rolls against squads the entire game, taking out probably 16. He also took out Isamu with a 17. I wish I could spin this as some sort of rad comeback story, but I only took out six Greenscales and hit Braxas for 3 wounds.

1-2 (-360)

What. A. Beating. This was one of those bad matchups that I just couldn't get past. Carter positioned his Greenscales perfectly in the choke points to stop me from getting close to Braxas, and it was all over from there. I rolled fine, but skulls and shields mean nothing to a Braxas's d20.

Round 4 on a long, thin map with criss-cross roads in the middle and a bridge running parallel to the long edges. Start Zones was the two rows along the long edge
Glyphs: Yadulkia
(disengage lol), Dagmar (Initiative +8)
Opp: Codeman
:utgar:
Marro Drones x7, :utgar: Su-Bak-Na

I wish there was much more to say about this match-up as well. Codeman is an excellent human being and he was coming off a Round 3 loss to a different Glad/Blast team. Unfortunately for him, he also rolled his Drone d20 VERY poorly and even with his SBN bonus, he still mostly only moved 3 Drones. The d20 wasn't the only die he rolled poorly on, as he whiffed on most of his defense rolls. Su-Bak-Na never made a move and I only lost one squad of each.

2-2 (+70)

Okay, sitting at .500 going into the final round. Obviously not making top 3 to get one of the cool trophies, but a full day of scape is never a bad thing!

Round 4 on another map with a bridge, but this time single hex width, running left to right.
Glyphs: Brandar
(before OM placement, move one of your figures 5 spaces), Yadulkia (disengage AGAIN lol)
Opp: Isaiah
:ullar: Aubrien Archers x4, :ullar: Haduc, :ullar: Mittens, :utgar: Isamu

First off, big fan of blanking half the glyphs in each of my final four games of the day. Thanks Gladiatrons!
Second, I was considering an Aubrien army myself, with Acolarh instead of Haduc and Isamu, but I didn't trust myself to roll well enough on Frenzy.
Third, Haduc is a neat custom, and I've definitely missed a lot being away from the forum for a decade.
Battle-wise, Isaiah was really good at rolling a d20. He frenzied just...SO much. At one point, he took 4 turns in a row. And that's just hard to deal with. Again, a short and sweet battle, but this one was capped with just my worst rolls of the day. I think his 4 consecutive turns was only out-lucked by my blastatrons rolling 0 skulls six times in eight attacks (on four 2's and four 3's). I killed a total of 7 archers 🙃

2-3 (-305)

I had a really fun time. A lot of good people, a lot of good conversations, and more importantly, the return of Heroscape Tournaments with BRAND NEW OFFICIAL FIGURES!

I was lucky enough to snag a Cornelius Breech from the prize table at the end of the day.

HUGE thanks to @Scytale for running things, and @Jormi_Boced for putting together the whole of Austi-Con! Can't wait for next year!

Colorado 2025 March Assassin + Control Points - Advantage Games
650 Delta points, min 3 Unique Heroes worth 40+ points

Army

:ullar:Sonlen SOTM
:utgar:Krug
🕸️Spider-Man
:utgar:Deathereavers x4

Kind of a weird adventure, this one was. I had already planned a trip to visit a friend nearby in Denver, when I saw a post on Facebook about a tournament in Colorado that just happened to be held on my last Saturday in town. I couldn't believe my luck, so I basically drove 11 hours to play Heroscape.

This was my first time playing Delta at all, and boy did I have a blast. I've always enjoyed Sonlen, but that 160 price tag was always too much. I did consider Theracus for my team to get Sonlen to the middle immediately, but being worth 40 points, he would have been an easy target, so I left him in the box at home. The games were capped at 4 rounds.

The way this game worked was that each map had two glyphs of Brandar as the control points. Everything within two hexes of that Glyph (19 total hexes, counting that space) was what you were aiming for. The player with the most army cards worth of units (rounded up) controls the point at the end of the round, and you got more points each round (1 in Round 1, 2 in Round 2, 3 in Rounds 3 and 4). So if you had a 4 man squad of deathreavers, you needed to have 5 reavers within range to count as two cards. Or if you had two unique heroes, that counts as two cards.

Each player also got to choose and place one of their opponents unique heroes at the start of the game as their assassination target. If you took out your target, you got 5 points.

Round 1 on Mossflower
Glyphs: Move +2, Wound
Opp: Martron
:jandar:Knights of Weston x2, :jandar:Frostclaw Paladins, :jandar:Alastair MacDirk, :jandar:Templar Cavalry x1, :jandar:MacDirk Warriors x1, :jandar:Sir Denrick, :jandar:Eldgrim
Assassin Targets: Sonlen (Martron), Eldgrim (me)

Martron realized right when he sat down that Eldgrim is only priced at 35, even in Delta, so his army was technically not legal. So obviously I picked Eldgrim as my target. Round 1 started with some running bears, knights, and MacDirks running out to grab one point. My rats went out and grabbed the move glyph, while Krug started moving into position. We each held one point at the end of the round, making it 1-1.

Martron proceded to make very few attacks the whole rest of the game, opting to move into adventageous positions rather than trigger a scatter or boost Krug. He snaked his way through the Rats I had set up on my control point, taking both, ending round 2 at 1-5.

Round 3 was much the same, thought Krug and his 7 move found his way back to Eldgrim and hurt him, and I did tie control of the first point, so no points there. 1-8.

Round 4 saw Krug take down Eldgrim, but too little too late. I did take full control of my original point, but was unable to tie the other one, so we each scored a possession. 9-11 final.

0-1

Alright, so I was not very good at character placement, and certainly didn't play into the game of using my 8 move Rats to run around and snag some points as I should have. I didn't read the signs well enough, and got outplayed. But now I got this!

Round 2 on Draugur
Glyphs: Move +2, Attack +1/OM
Opp: PyroGaige
:ullar:Sonlen SotM, :jandar:Frostclaw Paladins, :jandar:Alastair MacDirk, :utgar:Brunak, ☠️Kilkorax the Kyrie Warrior, ☠️Necrotech Wraithriders, :utgar:Sahuagin Raider
Assassin Targets: Sonlen (Pyro), Kilkorax (me)

A fellow Sonlen enjoyer, I thought Kilkorax was a better choice given how fragile they seem. And this time, I was going to be more aggressive with my Rats in round 1. Which allowed me to grab the Move glyph again (which I held the whole game again). This time, the control points were at choke points. I have Rats. They're MADE to choke!

I decided that I was going to use Spider-Man as my Kilkorax assassin. Especially with 8 move, he was gonna do some damage! We each grabbed a point after the first round, and Spidey was hiding behind a glacier ready to storm the start zone. 1-1

Round 2 had Spidey move up and take out a Wraithrider, while he took an attack from a Bear. Spidey Senses allowed him to move closer to Kilkorax without an order marker, so he was able to land a heavy hit on them before she flew away. Spidey chased her down, but while I was focused on that, I lost my control point at the end of the round, but we were still tied. 1-3

Round 3 finally saw Krug join the fray, but he was unable to land a hit. Spidey got locked down and eventually killed by Sonlen and some bears. Krug never took a wound and couldn't kill a single target the entire time. Same result, 1-6.

Round 4 was make or break. I had a chance, I just needed to win initiative. Which I did not, and Kilkorax was able to fly over a glacier to safety, and all I could do was win my control point back to lose by slightly less. 4-9 final.

0-2

Okay, once again, I focused on the wrong thing. Come on dawg, you should know better by now!

Round 3 on Lost Wonder
Glyphs:
Move +2, Wound
Opp: Wu-Sa-Ga
:utgar:Marrden Hounds x2, :utgar:Marrden Nagrubs x4, :utgar:Me-Burq-Sa, :utgar:Wo-Sa-Ga, :utgar:Marro Stingers x1, :utgar:Tul-Bak-Ra
Assassin Targets: Sonlen (Wu-Sa-Ga), Me-Burq-Sa (me)

Blessed with the move glyph once again, and several soulborgs to avoid some Marrden Plague, I (for the third game in a row) grabbed and held the move glyph for four rounds. And once again had a 7-move Krug as my assassin. The Hounds and Rats both went for both points, and we ended up at a stalemate through one. 0-0

Funny enough, Krug actually faced of with Wo-Sa-Ga in the middle, rather than getting to Me-Burq-Sa. After two rounds, Krug was at 7 wounds, which is every Krug player's dream. Throwing 9 dice at a 4 defense target who was on their last life? Oh, nevermind, Wo-Sa-Ga killed him. Spidey did hang out with some Rats to claim one of the points. 2-0

After some jostling for position, Spidey finally took down Wo-Sa-Ga, I moved Sonlen to that point to take his place, and some Rats came as reinforcements to hold both control points. 8-0

I knew I had already won, but I figured I should go for glory, right? The Rats and Spidey maneuvered their way into position, and a same-level Rat finished the job, scoring me 19 out of a possible 23 points. 19-0 final.

1-2

Okay, THAT is how you do it. Play more OMs on the Rats. Just move them as much as possible. That's what you gotta do.

Round 4 on Stolen Road

Assassin Targets: Krug (Pat), Hellforge Mandukor (me)

So this fella had several C3V stuff I've never heard of, but it looked sweet. We both had the idea that we didn't want to deal with Krug and Hellforge respectively, so we chose them as the targets hoping the other would keep it out of the fight.

Round 1, he immediately started moving Hellforge up. Okay, fine, Sonlen time. More position jockeying, and The Rats held one point and we tied the other with Spider-Man and Viscerot. 1-0

Round 2 saw the Hellforge start to do some work. He ate some rats, healed, hurt Sonlen, tried to hurt Spidey. Viscerot was also taking shots the entire time, but nothing really happened. And I'm feeling confident. 3-0

Round 3 and Sonlen finally took down the Hellforge. After doing a total of 8 damage, the gaping maw of Revna went back to the scrap heap. But the writing had been on the wall, and he mobilized Kalagrith. Who ended up scorching the earth, killing Spidey, Sonlen, and two Rats, which was enough to take both control points. 8-6

I go into Round 4 very nervous, because I know we either need to both hold one, or tie both, and he's got 6 units (Kalagrith, Viscerot, two Wraithriders, and Crypt Guardian) that can be split pretty easily. So Krug needs to kill something pretty badly. Very anticliactically, he does not, I don't even get the tie on either point, and the final is 8-12.

1-3

I ended up dropping at that point, as I had to drive an hour back to my friend's and I was getting hangry and tired. I realized my flaw of using 4-man squads and should have gone with the much more fun option of 4x Zombies. Oh well, everyone I met was super fun and I had a great day rolling some dice near hexagons (and also getting a Thyraxis Dragoon promo)

Big shoutout to the Colorado Crew, y'all were a lot of fun and I hope to be able to play against some of you again, either there or at GenCon!
