Cheating at Scape Con?

Myspace is flying with rumors and accusations that some cheating went down. How is this even possible? Trick order markers? Loaded dice?

I think this a rumor based off the one time Sir H and Bigga wrongly stated on stream that OEAO moved a unit too many spaces when he did not.

If there's any other instance of cheating, or a case of serial cheating, I didn't see it, and all the attendants I played against were honest and would call themself out if they rolled too many dice or whatever. I did have a game where my opponent and I forgot smoke powder didn't work on large or huge figures, but didn't realize til after the game, but it's no big deal. At the end of the day, as Ken and many others would say, it's a game made for 8 year olds.

Gladly enough the Nikita's Smoke Powder does work on large and huge figures so no issues there.

I recently had someone tell me for Raelin's aura that the figure getting the boost needs to see Raelin not Raelin seeing them. We were mid match, Raelin was flown far away from the rest of the army and it only happened on 1 occasion so I just went with it looking up the ruling afterwards. In a game like this there will totally be interactions like this all the time. Forgotten triggers, ability used unintentionally wrong. What really determines character is what the players do when a case like this comes up and I'm convinced the great Heroscape community is very self-policing about stuff like this.

Huh, I didn’t even hear rumors. Everyone was great. The aforementioned stream comment was our mistake, there was no player error…we just missed the original position of the unit placement.

If it's the game I was watching, I believe Shurrig misspoke and it was the engagement strike that was triggered on a large figure, rather than smoke powder

I heard that the streaming table had big D20s so that the numbers would be visible on camera. Non-Hasbro D20s are strictly prohibited by ScapeCon rules.

Yeah, I heard that some players met up with Hans Niemann and the MIT Blackjack Team beforehand and arrived outfitted with nanotechnology and esoteric knowledge strictly forbidden by ScapeCon and (most importantly) the Renegade Battle Network. Shameful. This is a game for kids!
