Welcome to the Heroscapers 2.0 site! We've still got some dust to clear and adjustments to make, including launching a new front page, but we hope you enjoy the improvements to the site. Please post your feedback and any issues you encounter in this thread.
Pretty straightforward skirmish map themed for Flash. The theme behind the Temporal Anomaly is that all that Flash Superspeeding in Central City opens up a time warp.
I've played a few informal games on it. Plays fairly fast (surprise?) but not without tactics. The cars are nice throwable objects but also give some obstruction. The height in the middle and Temporal Anomaly are worth fighting over, but tough to hold.
Looks pretty straightforward, not much cover at all. Melee figures without super strength will likely struggle, but there's not a ton of height/space, so it's not like ranged fliers can kite too effectively either. Should be interesting and give a different feel from our other maps.
I'm gonna need to pick up a third Marvel set to build this.
Yeah, we should definitely vet it for range, but I think it's hard for range to benefit too much, because you can't really hide for very long from melee - they'll reach you. And the cars give a fair amount of obstruction, so you're mostly getting +1 defense at least.
One thing is the asphalt is all level 1, so the road has to be extremely narrowed (and might not work in the same shape even) if you take out a Marvel set.
C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY Overall Look: Biased, but I’m a fan. Feels like a slice of a city
Stability: I played on TTS
Build difficulty: I played on TTS
Size: Good size. It plays fast, but in a way I like for more of a playtest map
Unit types positively affected: Melee figures actually like it, because they can close in more quickly. Bonding unique heroes like it because of the temporal anomaly. Ranged figures like it because of the height in the middle. Super Strength figures like it because lots of cars to throw.
Unit types negatively affected: Event Heroes and squads don’t love it due to the Temporal Anomaly and the fact that lots of figures can get to height pretty easily.
Key areas on the Map: The middle with the Temporal Anomaly is the most fought over space.
Areas not used much or at all: The start zones. Figures mostly move out of there quickly.
Team Test
Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Deadpool (440), Cable (280), Domino (220), Jubilee (60) (1000) vs King Ghidorah (1000)
Unit Summary: On a fast map, things got into action right away. Ghidorah came close to taking out Deadpool early with the triple attack but didn’t finish the job and Deadpool’s attack might took him out instead. Cable’s bonding was useful for Deadpool but Deadpool was clearly the strongest figure here.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!
Deadpool is added to X-Force.
Initiative X-Force. Cable and Jubilee advance. Ghidorah advances and hits Cable and a car with his Gravity Beams, destroying the car and putting 1 wound on Cable. Cable takes height and shoots down on Ghidorah for 1 wound. Only Jubilee is close enough to move forward. Jubilee jumps onto the Temporal Anomaly but fails to hit Ghidorah with her special attack. Ghidorah flies to even height and triple attacks, taking out Jubilee, but failing to hit Cable. Cable has Deadpool advance and Deadpool uses his range enhancement to shoot at Ghidorah (it’s a poor roll from height disadvantage and is blocked), then Deadpool uses Erratic Movement to fly onto the Temporal Anomaly and engage Ghidorah and uses the +2 attack, for a total attack of 8 when combined with Cable’s boost. He gets 6 hits and puts 4 wounds on Ghidorah. Cable can’t hit Ghidorah. Ghidorah triple attacks. First on Deadpool, who takes 1 wound. Then a 6 hit attack on Deadpool, who takes 5 wounds. Deadpool uses Erratic Movement to move out of range. The third attack goes on Cable, who blocks. Deadpool heals 1 wound.
Initiative X-Force. Cable has Deadpool go back on the Temporal Anomaly and engage Ghidorah. Deadpool uses his +2 for a total attack of 8. Somehow Ghidorah blocks. Deadpool attacks again, this time adding the blank reroll, and gets an attack of 7 hits. Ghidorah blocks 4, but goes up to 8 wounds. Cable blasts Ghidorah for 2 more. Deadpool heals. Ghidorah rolls poorly on Gravity Beams and can’t hit either foe. Cable has Deadpool go and Deadpool uses the +2 and punches out Ghidorah, then heals a wound.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Domino with Full Life, Cable with 3/5 Life, and Deadpool with 4/7 Life win.

Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Deadpool (440), Cable (280), Domino (220), Jubilee (60) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: Deadpool did all the work for his team here, which fell apart around him and robbed him of his chances. Still, he performed admirably with big attacks and was difficult to finish due to healing. Superman’s big attacks and timely defense rolls got the job done, though.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!
Cable once again invites Deadpool to join the X-Force.
Initiative X-Force. Cable and Jubilee advance. Wonder Woman flies up behind a car. Cable has Deadpool advance. Batman advances. Cable advances and would hit Batman for 2 wounds but Superman comes to the rescue and takes 1 instead. Jubilee takes to the Temporal Anomaly and puts 2 wounds on Batman with her special. Superman engages Jubilee, but fails to hit her. Batman engages Jubilee and punches her out. Wonder Woman takes the Temporal Anomaly and hits Cable for 2 wounds.
Wonder Woman uses a Justice Marker. Initiative Trinity after Batman uses a marker to steal it. Superman punches Cable for 2 wounds. Wonder Woman punches Cable out. Batman hits Deadpool for 1 wound. Deadpool uses Erratic Movement to fly up next to Wonder Woman. Cable had OM1. Superman punches Deadpool and hits him for 3 wounds. Deadpool uses the +2 attack but can’t hit Wonder Woman. Then he adds the blank reroll/knockback and hits Wonder Woman for 4 wounds and knocks her back 1 space. He avoids her lasso and uses Erratic Movement to take the Temporal Anomaly, then heals 1 wound. Superman punches a whiffing Deadpool for 3 wounds. Deadpool defeats Wonder Woman, fails to hit Superman, then heals 1 wound. During cleanup, he heals another.
Initiative Trinity. Superman and Batman each hit Deadpool for 1 wound and he is down to 1 Life. Deadpool takes the +2 and attacks Batman and would defeat him, except Superman comes to the rescue. Deadpool adds the blank reroll and attacks Superman with a 5 hit attack, but Superman blocks. Deadpool heals 1 wound. Superman catches Deadpool whiffing and finishes him. Superman flies to Dominio and one-shots her when she whiffs as well.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Superman with 5/7 Life and Batman with 2/4 Life win.
Team Test
Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Tarkin (160), AT-ST (200), Darth Vader (320), Stormtroopers x4 (320) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: I underrated Tarkin’s first two abilities as, combined with the swarming effect of Vader plus Stormtroopers, they were good ways to keep the Trinity engaged and losing initiative. This paired well with Through Victory, Peace’s ability to press the advantage and take out enemies. Dice luck slightly favored the Empire here and it was a tough match up for the Trinity overall. So far Tarkin feels good at his cost.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!
Vader starts out in the AT-ST.
Wonder Woman uses a marker. Initiative Trinity. Vader maneuvers up some Stormtroopers. Wonder Woman advances. Troopers advance, followed by Vader in the AT-ST. The AT-ST blows up a car. Troopers advance. Batman advances. Troopers advance and have Wonder Woman and Batman in their sights. The AT-ST fires at Wonder Woman and Batman for 1 wound each on the first try and then would have defeated each of them on the second (all skulls, Troopers subtracting JL defenses) except Batman burns two markers to boost Superman to the Rescue twice and Superman takes 2 wounds instead. Tarkin advances. Superman moves adjacent to the AT-ST and rolls miserably and is blocked. Wonder Woman moves adjacent to the AT-ST and rolls 5 skulls, catches the vehicle whiffing, and defeats it. Batman hops onto the Temporal Anomaly and uses his batarangs, taking out one Stormtrooper, but failing to hit Vader or a second Trooper. Stormtroopers engage the heroes. Tarkin advances and would take out Batman, but Superman saves him. Tarkin uses the X on Vader to activate him. Vader throws Batman off the anomaly but can’t wound him, then slashes Wonder Woman for 2 wounds.
Wonder Woman uses a marker. Initiative Empire, thanks to Tarkin. Stormtroopers advance. Vader eludes the lasso and takes height on Wonder Woman, then Force Chokes Superman for 1 wound. Vader takes out Wonder Woman. Tarkin presses the advantage, removing the X from his card and the 3 from the Troopers. Troopers put 1 wound on Batman and then would defeat Batman, but Supes takes a fifth wound to save him. Tarkin fails to hit Batman from height. Troopers advance. Superman takes out a Trooper. Batman punches Vader for 2 wounds. Troopers swarm Superman. Vader finishes Batman. Superman takes out two Troopers with his next two turns but they continue to swarm him thanks to Vader.
Superman removes OM1 from the Empire. Initiative Empire. Their OM1 is gone. Superman takes out a Trooper but is still surrounded as they continue to swarm. Vader fails two Force Choke attempts on Superman. Tarkin uses the X but can’t hit Superman. Superman has to waste another big attack on a Trooper, but takes him out at least. Vader Force Chokes Superman for a sixth wound as the Troopers continue to swarm. Superman takes out another Trooper (five are left).
Initiative Superman. He takes out a Trooper. Vader can’t Force Choke Superman or hit him with a car. Tarkin uses the X but can’t hit Superman. Superman takes out yet another Trooper (3 are left). Vader fails to Force Choke Superman but rolls all skulls on a car toss and finishes him.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Tarkin with Full Life, Vader with 4/6 Life, and 1 Unit of Stormtroopers win.

Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Tarkin (160), AT-ST (200), Darth Vader (320), Stormtroopers x4 (320) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: By having Batman focus on crowd control early, when Superman arrived he wasn’t in a place where he couldn’t get in licks on the Empire heavy hitters. Some luck and a big initiative swing going into round 2 led to the AT-ST and Vader falling quickly, after which the Empire lacked any juice. This one was a bigger loss than the first one was a win, so I’m feeling better about the balance here.

Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Linda Park (100), Flash (Wally) (300), Kid Flash (Bart) (180), Flash (Jay) (220), XS (150), Splitting Images (50) (1000) vs Batman (Outsiders) (220), Geo-Force (280), Black Lightning (150), Katana (150), Halo (200) (1000)
Unit Summary: Wally’s allies fell like chumps here for the most part, but did manage to take out Geo-Force early and XS took out Batman mid-game to give Wally (resilient thanks to Linda) a shot in endgame. Black Lightning just pulled it out.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!
Wally adds Jay, Bart, and Jenni to the family. Splitting Images attack to Wally.
Initiative Flash Family. Jay runs onto the Temporal Anomaly in the center of the map. Geo-Force advances and throws down some lava, which melts a car but spares Jay, the blasts Jay for 2 wounds (a reroll saves him from a third). Black Lightning advances and zaps Jay for the other 2 wounds, defeating him. Wally uses the X. Impulse charges in with his special, using feints as hits, and punches Geo-Force for 1 wound. XS pushes herself to the max, inflicting 1 wound on herself despite a reroll, but attacks Geo-Force 3 times for 1 wound. Wally charges forward and punches Geo for 2 more wounds. Katana follows Mission Prep and slashes Bart for 1 wound (would have been 2 if not for a reroll). Geo-Force’s lava only hits Katana (ouch), but then he aces Bart with a car. Wally has the Splitting Images go after Geo (defeating him) and Black Lightning (blocked) both from height. He pops up again next to Black Lightning. Halo uses her red aura and attacks Wally for 1 wound (despite a reroll). Katana slashes Wally for all skulls and would defeat him, but Linda saves him. Wally heals during cleanup and maneuvers himself and XS (who takes the Temporal Anomaly).
Initiative Team Flash. Wally uses the X. XS punches at Halo (miss) on the way to Batman, whom she hits for 2 wounds on 3 attacks (he had anticipated this in his Mission Prep). She takes a wound herself, despite a reroll. Linda advances, ready to mix it up (out of desperation). The Splitting Images double attack Halo for 3 wounds. Black Lightning and Katana fail to hit Wally. XS takes out Batman, despite Mission Prep, and ends the round for the Outsiders. Wally runs through Katana, Halo, and Black Lightning and hits each for an auto wound. In cleanup he heals again.
Initiative Flash Family. Wally uses the X and has Linda advance. XS fails to punch out Halo then falls to her own damage die, despite a reroll. Wally runs through all three remaining enemies but only wounds Katana. Halo uses her Violet aura to return to the startzone and heal 2 wounds. Wally runs through Black Lightning and Katana and finishes Katana on a reroll. Black Lightning zaps Wally twice for 1 wound. Wally punches out Halo. Black Lightning blasts Linda and finishes her. Wally heals to full during cleanup.
Initiative Flash. He takes a wound from Lightning Chain. Black Lightning can’t hit Wally. Wally has Splitting Images go. One hits Black Lightning for 1 wound and then Wally pops up near the other, behind a car. Black Lightning pursues, zapping at Wally, and despite Wally dodging around cars for obstruction, the third attack from Black Lightning takes him out.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Black Lightning with 2/4 Life wins.
