Pretty straightforward skirmish map themed for Flash. The theme behind the Temporal Anomaly is that all that Flash Superspeeding in Central City opens up a time warp.

I've played a few informal games on it. Plays fairly fast (surprise?) but not without tactics. The cars are nice throwable objects but also give some obstruction. The height in the middle and Temporal Anomaly are worth fighting over, but tough to hold.

Happy to toggle the number of cars if folks feel like this is too many, or change the placements

Can you link the Temporal Anomaly?

Looks pretty straightforward, not much cover at all. Melee figures without super strength will likely struggle, but there's not a ton of height/space, so it's not like ranged fliers can kite too effectively either. Should be interesting and give a different feel from our other maps.

I'm gonna need to pick up a third Marvel set to build this.

Yeah, we should definitely vet it for range, but I think it's hard for range to benefit too much, because you can't really hide for very long from melee - they'll reach you. And the cars give a fair amount of obstruction, so you're mostly getting +1 defense at least.

I'll link the Temporal Anomaly. Good call

I'd probably push for fewer cars but as I don't have three sets of Marvel it's not going to be a huge deal if folks like all the cars

Messed around to see if I could get it down to Marvel x2 and there's just no way.

yea

Is the goal to only use marvel sets? Could probably pull off Marvel x2 and a base set.

One thing is the asphalt is all level 1, so the road has to be extremely narrowed (and might not work in the same shape even) if you take out a Marvel set.

I'll add map-specific notes later

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Overall Look: Biased, but I’m a fan. Feels like a slice of a city

Stability: I played on TTS

Build difficulty: I played on TTS

Size: Good size. It plays fast, but in a way I like for more of a playtest map

Unit types positively affected: Melee figures actually like it, because they can close in more quickly. Bonding unique heroes like it because of the temporal anomaly. Ranged figures like it because of the height in the middle. Super Strength figures like it because lots of cars to throw.

Unit types negatively affected: Event Heroes and squads don’t love it due to the Temporal Anomaly and the fact that lots of figures can get to height pretty easily.

Key areas on the Map: The middle with the Temporal Anomaly is the most fought over space.

Areas not used much or at all: The start zones. Figures mostly move out of there quickly.

Team Test
Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Deadpool (440), Cable (280), Domino (220), Jubilee (60) (1000)
vs King Ghidorah (1000)
Unit Summary: On a fast map, things got into action right away. Ghidorah came close to taking out Deadpool early with the triple attack but didn’t finish the job and Deadpool’s attack might took him out instead. Cable’s bonding was useful for Deadpool but Deadpool was clearly the strongest figure here.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Domino with Full Life, Cable with 3/5 Life, and Deadpool with 4/7 Life win.

Team Test
Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Deadpool (440), Cable (280), Domino (220), Jubilee (60) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: Deadpool did all the work for his team here, which fell apart around him and robbed him of his chances. Still, he performed admirably with big attacks and was difficult to finish due to healing. Superman’s big attacks and timely defense rolls got the job done, though.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Superman with 5/7 Life and Batman with 2/4 Life win.

Team Test
Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Tarkin (160), AT-ST (200), Darth Vader (320), Stormtroopers x4 (320) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: I underrated Tarkin’s first two abilities as, combined with the swarming effect of Vader plus Stormtroopers, they were good ways to keep the Trinity engaged and losing initiative. This paired well with Through Victory, Peace’s ability to press the advantage and take out enemies. Dice luck slightly favored the Empire here and it was a tough match up for the Trinity overall. So far Tarkin feels good at his cost.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Tarkin with Full Life, Vader with 4/6 Life, and 1 Unit of Stormtroopers win.

Team Test
Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Tarkin (160), AT-ST (200), Darth Vader (320), Stormtroopers x4 (320) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: By having Batman focus on crowd control early, when Superman arrived he wasn’t in a place where he couldn’t get in licks on the Empire heavy hitters. Some luck and a big initiative swing going into round 2 led to the AT-ST and Vader falling quickly, after which the Empire lacked any juice. This one was a bigger loss than the first one was a win, so I’m feeling better about the balance here.

Map: CENTRAL CITY EXPRESSWAY
Units: Linda Park (100), Flash (Wally) (300), Kid Flash (Bart) (180), Flash (Jay) (220), XS (150), Splitting Images (50) (1000) vs Batman (Outsiders) (220), Geo-Force (280), Black Lightning (150), Katana (150), Halo (200) (1000)
Unit Summary: Wally’s allies fell like chumps here for the most part, but did manage to take out Geo-Force early and XS took out Batman mid-game to give Wally (resilient thanks to Linda) a shot in endgame. Black Lightning just pulled it out.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Black Lightning with 2/4 Life wins.
