Casters of Valhalla

Is it possible we could get an episode diving into VC at some point in the future? Intro to what it’s about, some of the more popular/powerful units, maybe a bit of discussion on the top power level ranked ones like Quahon and Incendiborgs, etc? I feel like that would be a cool resource for people to get directed to to learn about VC in audio form; I know it’s been, not hard exactly, but more awkward to trawl through forum threads than a podcast introduction episode would have been for me.
It's something we can potentially do, although we're not big customs people (especially Ken- I know he wouldn't be on a VC episode).

Would be a good episode for some guest hosts. IS/Vegie/Dok.. I would listen. :)

I think that an episode just recapping and discussing the whole VCheese4 bracket when it’s finished would be really cool.

Seconded. (Or I guess, fourthed?)

Bit late on this but I also think having an episode dedicated to VC is a good idea. VC is used by a large proportion of the community, and has featured in multiple events at Scapecon. Also, as @Shadowking points out, there isn't currently a single, one-stop-shop resource that covers VC in great detail - most of the 'introductory' VC threads are kind of scattered around the forums and it'd be nice to have something that covers the basics in one place.

Rather than having an episode solely dedicated to VCheese 4, as has been suggested, I think it's a better idea to do a more general episode that covers things like: what is VC; a brief history of the project; some notable classic synergies; a discussion of what are the most viable (like, A- tier and above) units currently... Again, an introductory episode. I do realise that neither yourself nor Ken really plays VC at all, but I would think that between people like Superfrog, vegie, or dok you'd easily be able to get enough people on to make a full episode out of it.

Probably my favorite episode so far. Really enjoyed the breakdown of all the different things to think about, when prepping for a tournament. I especially appreciated the emphasis on the different mindsets behind your army: ie, are you playing to win, trying something out, or just trying something crazy, and how that affects what army you are bringing. Also, the reminder that it's a game for 8 year olds...

The major step I haven't thought much about is not only thinking about what is most optimal in a certain format, but thinking of how to counter the most optimal army.

Another great episode. It is crazy that something as simple as a main event format change is potentially what has kept Heroscape going, on a competitive level, for so many years.

I only attended one Gencon (2015) and definitely had the mind set then of just wanting to make day 2, so brought a too strong army (Knights x3, Gilbert, Raelin, Sam Brown). Went 4-1, placing 10th on day 1, but, as expected, was knocked in round 1 of Day 2.

Listened

Solid episode with lots of good points. Came across a touch like "How to play Splash at RTW" than "How to prep for RTW" but that's probably due to the nature of the hosts involved and it still touched on good points outside of that. Good work Mike.

~Dysole, not yet sure if she's playing the RTW event this year

Ken and I play a lot of other tabletop games. Would a Top 50 (or 100) Tabletop Games podcast be of any interest to listeners?

I’d listen for sure! Heroscape is by far and away my favorite game, but I’ve been exploring a ton of other games with one of my friends, so I’d be interested to hear about some games that would most likely be new to me!

Any possibility it could be done by genre -- top x family games, party games, 2 player strategy games, co-op games, filler games, card games, etc.?
