Any composers out there?

I certainly hope I'm not alone in this...

I personally have been composing since I was 7, and have since then (in an 11-year period) composed around 1,000 compositions for various ensembles.

Anyone else?:D

I've done some heavy metal songwriting. Does that count?

Sure does. Whether it is actively putting pencil to paper or simply transcribing arrangements, it is still composing music for people to enjoy. People like all genres of music, including heavy metal;)

I, personally, compose classical/jazz music, and I also arrange music (I am currently making arrangements for a brass quintet for the HP opening this month:)). I lately have broken out of my comfort zone and have started writing pep tunes for marching band.

I can't read or write music, so if you mean "compose" as in writing out something on paper, not so much. But I do write songs and work out arrangements for those songs, but I have to record my ideas to get them down.

I compose some jazzy songs and some more orchestral songs. I typically store all of my compositions in my head until I have time to transcribe them onto the computer.

I've composed a bit myself on the Noteworthy Composer program. I'm in the process of learning to sight read.

I'm in a band and we write a lot of our own stuff. I also like to fiddle around and make riffs up on my own. Guess which instrument I play!
