Abandoned LexCorp Facility

Map Playtested: Abandoned LexCorp Facility

Overall Look: Looks great, very much like an abandoned warehouse.

Stability: Played on TTS, but nothing looks like it would unstable.

Build difficulty: Directions look very straight forward.

Size: 38 x 28, its on the larger size so you usually aren't getting into the action until round 2.

Unit types positively affected: Like all maps, fast figures and fliers are going to get into the action quicker.

Unit types negatively affected: Slow figures without range.

Key areas on the Map: I found the height with the battlements very where a lot of action happened.

Areas not used much or at all: Outside of the Warehouse, near the BFG.

Game 1:
Spoiler Alert!

Game 2:
Spoiler Alert!

Final Thoughts: I like this map a lot and had a fun time exploring the different areas of it. It has enough line of sight blockers where melee figures won't get picked off easily before they get into action. My only gripe would be the crates and picking up items. I think a special rule can be put into place to make it easier to pick them up. If I wasn't tossing the crates as a weapon leaving the items exposed I may never take the time to pick them up. I have a couple of thoughts that I will pass on to the LD. It's a large map and might not become a playtest staple but it's interesting and has many different ways to play on it. No physical changes recommended, just the item issue. Will play more games on this map for sure.

Definitely hoping to test this one out once that item issue is resolved

I played it tonight with the tokens uncovered and moved the crates adjacent and it seemed fine. Let me think on it tonight and I'll post up a decision tomorrow

NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: LEXCORP ABANDONED FACILITY

Spoiler Alert!
Action stayed on the BFG side of the map in both games

Team Test
Map: LEXCORP ABANDONED FACILITY
Units: Cell (240), Pinhead (335), Jason Vorhees (175), Desaad (240) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: Definitely felt like anyone’s game. If Cell had rolled even average on his damage dice, he would’ve felt very tough to take down and probably would’ve swung things to a win for the Tormentors.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!

Map Summary: The BFG never got fired but there was a big battle over it. The smoke pellets had the potential to be quite useful, but Batman’s batarangs knocked it around. Desaad used the Experimental Medicine for a second life. The map has a cool “treasure hunting mini game” feel to it that I enjoyed.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Superman with 1/7 Life and Wonder Woman with 3/6 Life win..

Map: LEXCORP ABANDONED FACILITY
Units: Cell (240), Pinhead (335), Jason Vorhees (175), Desaad (240) (1000) vs He-Man (320), Sorceress (120), Masters of the Universe Story Card (60), Teela (170), Stratos (150), Man-at-Arms (180) (1000)
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!

Map Summary: Cell bum rushed for the BFG this game and then rolled poorly for it, so the strategy backfired on him. The smoke pellets came up big for Pinhead, though it wasn’t enough. The Tormentors won the “treasure hunt” but their actual team wasn’t tough enough here.
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Sorceress with Full Life, Man-at-Arms with 3/4 Life, Stratos with 3/4 Life, and He-Man with 1/6 Life win

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: It’s a fun map! I never go the infrared goggles or gas mask. I’m not sure they’d be worth trying to pursue outside of specific match ups. The experimental medicine, smoke pellets, and BFG all came into play and felt significant.

Spoiler Alert!
Nothing really stands out.

Team Test

Map: ABANDONED LEXCORP FACILITY

Units: Witchblade (330), Darkness (330), Darklings (100), Captain America (240) (1000) vs Fantastic Four (1000)

Unit Summary: The Fan Four survive some tough rolls here but got some good use out of the BFG. A big swing was Human Torch avoiding what would be a death blow to go Supernova.

Game Summary

  • Damage Done (Normal Attack): Inflicted [3] wounds on [Human Torch [3]]
  • WITCHBLADE ADAPTATION: Used the movement boost [1] times; immovable/ability negation [X] times; and special attack [3] times for [7] wounds on [Invisible Woman [2], Human Torch [1], Thing [4]]
  • BIO-ADAPTIVE DEFENSE: Felt [Very good, especially with Cap and height.]
  • HEALING FACTOR: Healed a total of [5] wounds

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Thing with 2/6 Life and Mister Fantastic with 2/5 Life win.

Map: ABANDONED LEXCORP FACILITY

Units: Witchblade (330), Hellboy (340), Black Canary (JL) (220), Oracle (110) (1000) vs Sorceress (120), He-Man (320), MotU Story Card (60), Stratos (150), Teela (170), Man-at-Arms (180) (1000)

Unit Summary: Crates saw all the action this time (though Sorceress almost made it to the BFG before sacrificing herself). Pellets were big and the First Aid Kit was used. Batarangs were equipped but since Batman wasn’t in the game, they didn’t end up being worth using.

  • WITCHBLADE ADAPTATION: Used the movement boost [2] times; immovable/ability negation [1] times; and special attack [4] times for [7] wounds on [Man-at-Arms [5], He-Man [2]]

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: Still think it’s a fun map! There’s a tile or two out of place on TTS (just needs readjusting) and the crates don’t load for me still, but I love the overall theme and it has a lot of fun nooks and crannies to explore.

Are we good with where it's at as a group now. If so I Propose we move to Final Edit

Map itself looks fine but not down the the SZs as discussed elsewhere.
