He tends to show up a lot in competitive formats where the top stuff isn't viable or allowed for some reason. He has some versatility and he's very tough.

I see how the current spate of new designs is different from what we had before, thematically. But I don't agree with all the doom-and-gloom... we're in a new age of Heroscape but it's not awful. Mechanically I think the new designs are pretty cool, and feel very Heroscapey.

I personally think that was an overreaction on the part of the SCE organizers. Although some added context in favor of that decision is the high number of Dungeon maps in their pool.

I don't think Drow define the current Delta meta... they're still just a 3-figure squad with 3 attacks of 3 a turn.

This is what I mean. One player can perch Raelin on the highest level of the map, covering the glyph, in a single OM. The other player cannot reach that spot, and putting their Raelin on the "semi-mirrored" high-ground they can reach in one OM does not allow them to cover the glyph.

This thread should help explain the logic. Basically the argument is that they're too niche. I do personally disagree that some of those figures should be marked as black though. The wyrmlings are pretty good and not niche. Deathstalkers are okay as Defenders. Sometimes you want an explosion...
