Is the Kee-Mo-Shi really needed?
Being a huge fan of the greatly powerful Ne-Gok-Sa, I am very annoyed at Hasro for making the Kee-Mo-Shi figure. I don't mind the Shades as much, but it is still greatly displeasing. I know that it open the field a little more but why do we need this figure?

To have another spin on Mindshackle - Ne-Gok-Sa is a tank, Kee-Mo-Shi is a cleanup. Or something.

She is very useful. She's a marro. Adds plus one with Su bak na on any 20 die roll. She can attack and defend well. She's got an average amount of life. She can mind shackle and do toxic skin afterwards. She can get over there and kick some butt.

Is any figure specifically necessary? Not really. But more figures mean more choices for us, and I for one like choices.

Ki-Mo-Shee + Su-Bak-Na + glyph that adds 1 to your die roll= 17 or more for mindshackle which is 20% or 1/5 which means theoritaclly(or however you spell it) for every 5 rolls for mindshackle, you will shackle one figure which = very good

GForce, my wife always feels like she needs to wash her hands after she takes a turn with KMS because of her sculpt. She's just soo amazingly vile (KMS, that is...not my wife).
That being said, I haven't had the greatest luck Toxic Skinning anyone...especially when I wanted it to be my own Eldgrim. |

They each have their own benefits. KMS has the more reliable mindshackles, and several neat tricks of her own. Her biggest downside is that she has to go it alone. Its easy to stop her by throwing a single common troop in her path and she's much easier to take down, making her somewhat risky overall. Her Toxic Skin helps against commons, but she often gets swarmed and killed before she can shackle.
NGS doesn't shackle as reliably, but he's got his own benefits. For one, he bonds with the Romans, giving him some bodyguards to work with. Its easier to tie up the commons so NGS can engage the Heroes. Second, he's a total tank, and even if he can't reliably shackle, he's bound to have more tries at it. |

KMS was designed by the little girl that won the contest through Hasbro about a year and a half ago. I can't remember her name, but her mother posted a few times at the old HQ site. Hasbro was obligated to make the figure after she won the contest. Like KMS or not there was no way around having her.

If I remember correctly, the original character design was something like some servant/denizen of an underworld from some mythology, Greek comes to mind... hrm, maybe I'll try finding that article again... Glory to the Many. |
