I love these guys to! I find the marro warriors are extremley effective at tying up Drake, Charos and other advancing melee figures, while a strong range figure get in position to take them out. They're also great for dumping warriors spirits.

They are so worth 50 points, they killed my Jotun (who had no wounds previously) in a few turns. They are way too good

They are good with height. What i do is send three in at the beginning and keep one back. When my units are nearlly all dead it's cloning time! A few turns later i once again have a full squad.

BTW, if you Mindshackle a second squad, do you have to keep them separate for Water Clone? I.e., if you have 3 left (out of 8 ) can you clone 3 times in one turn for a total of six? I do the same thing ares834 does. And Taeblewalker I would say you can't.

I got height advantage with these guys and one of them managed to give Nilfheim 3 damage straight away.
I think the Marro Warriors are a supreme fighting team when you have secured height advantage. |

Re: Marro Warriors Tactics
[quote="Clarissimus"]I want to love these guys as much as everyone else likes them, and on paper they look great (especially for their price), but somehow whenever I play with them are ineffective and die quickly.
What tactics do you use when playing with the Marro Warriors?[/quote to use the marro warriors wisley allways keep 1 away from combat and gaurded by other charecters so that u can clone later. Also u should draft su bak na his hive supremecy efect helps by adding 1 to the roll. (also u should use su bak na to attack any high defense figure like the death walkers because he has seven attack) (also even when su bak na is dead his effect works) |

cant recall who, but earlier someone asked how to justify a wasted turn marker for the cloneing ability, ie: allowing the oppenent to take a normal full turn with damage potential while your unable to cause damage.
to answer that question its all about a couple tactics...1) a endgame unit, when the battle is winding down and not many units left per side the ability to waste a turn and return your 2 maro to 4 can not be overstated. ive seen via cloneing that 50 point squad come back and take out several times its point value for the win. 2) another tactic is the afore mentioned tactic of sending 3 out to use till they die and leaving one back for endgame cloneing works well to. 3) the 4 man assult with the single man retreat is effective to...3 die then the 4th retreats and attempts to clone on the way and hopefully draws the attacker into a ambush. if he servives the retreat it leaves you with a endgame squad as a bonus as with all tactics these only work based of troop placement, the map, and if your dice are hot or cold |
