Re: UPC's Maps - Revisited
Bare with me, I am still trying to figure out how all this works again...
With out further ado, I present Cavern of Jo'Nah. I used short of 1 RotV and 1 BftU set. I will upload the build later this evening, but I wanted to get at least something uploaded this evening. ![]() Going minimalist here and shooting for a balanced, non-symmetric map. Yes, I realize going in that it looks slightly unbalanced, but I hope I have minimized any advantages going either way. The games I have played have been quick and have used all of the map and I do not feel that the map dominated the games. Here is the link to the download. Cavern of Jo'Nah Let me know how it plays... Re: UPC's Maps - Revisited
Going back through some old maps, some from January 2006. They were prior to the whole balanced, tournament focus of maps and more about scenarios and fun. It is funny seeing such small starting zones being used, again prior to tournament rules being established.
Many units have since been released that quite possibly render the maps unplayable at this point for anything but non-serious gaming, but still might provide a fun night of Heroscape. Now, to figure out which ones to dust off and post. LandSCAPE anyone??? FYI, I edited the above post with a link to the build of Cavern of Jo'Nah. Re: UPC's Maps - Revisited
Looks great UPC, have it printed and getting it built. Can't wait to get some games on this.
Edit: On level 1, there is a mistake. You have a 7 hex grass tile overlapping one hex of the 24 hexer in the righthand start zone. I just replaced the 7 hexer with a single, 2 hexer and 3 hexer. Re: UPC's Maps - Revisited
Figure I'd collect all these here, since UPC was the progenitor of the original.

Wow, I didn't realize that there were that many variations of that map!

Re: UPC's Maps - Revisited
Wow! That is awesome. I am honored that something I created has continued on for so long. Even more humbling is the list of great map makers who wanted to add their own twist to the original.
Very cool! UPC's Heroscape Strategy Blog (and whatever else the Muse sends my way...) |
