Here is a link to a demo video of my not-shared app.

It might give you some interface ideas.

It would be awesome if you can combine efforts, but I understand sometimes it is easier to program alone. I wish both of you luck in making a workable simulation.

Interesting and very nice work. Really nice work. My vision is quite a bit different. Basically just mouse_left and mouse_right to control everything instead of pop up windows on the side with a drop down list of selections in a window especially with general movement and attacking. Placing a figure on the map maybe would require a drop down list window, but I invisioned picture icons and stuff with a totally different user interface. I never saw this program before though, it is very impressive.

I don't know what to say except I never saw this program before and it would be a great simulation program if it works online as multiplayer.

I don't particularly like the user interface (mainly movement and attacking, I am just not a big fan of using Windows' protocol once a game starts), but the code looks very tight. Looks like an excellent program to me.

I am guessing you have been working on this for a long time. Definitely well planned and programmed.

Re: Heroscape Online

Oh btw,

A suggestion for laptop users from some gaming friends of mine was to use +/- keys for zoom and use page up/page down for the chat window.

Sounded good to me. So will do that for next test.

Re: Heroscape Online

If I somehow sounded rude regarding Pygon's program, I didn't mean to be. He has already conquered all the hurdles I am going to be facing here soon. All that movement stuff, up and down tiles, etc. He already has that all figured out, not to mention moving under structures and stuff, which will definitely take some doing.

Just thought I might have sounded rude there in the way I said things, if I did it was not intentional.

Re: Heroscape Online

I don't know how I missed this before now. this makes me very, very happy. And for those of you who say this could kill playing heroscape as a boardgame, I disagree. I say that this game could become very popular, bringing more people into heroscape, and them wanting to play a physical boardgame. Maybe they won't be crazy like everyone here and spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on it, but they would want some of it. And then heroscape comes back. Godspeed SOOT.

Re: Heroscape Online

I would say it would be cool to have map creation compatibility with Virtualscape.

Since the corporate folks probably won't let you share it as freeware, You should consider having all the master sets and large expansions come free, with the oppurtunity to buy any full expansion wave to use for 5 bucks each. This will bring some profits you can offer to give revenue to them. Money is really the only thing that speaks to them, unfortunately.

This is...I don't know how to describe this!!! Hasbro's one stubborn mule though I only hope they recognize the awesomeness (it's the only way I can describe it, that's how impressive this is) of your work.

Not at all, I appreciated your compliments.

If you have your own vision for how your program works, that's perfectly fine.
I only wanted to provide a demo of how mine works to offer ideas for how you could accept those kinds of inputs.
