Heroscape Online

Hello Heroscapers,

I will try to keep this short and sweet.

I have been waiting for years for a playable online version of Heroscape to be created. I have monitored the forums for years, although I never post, but have observed work from Zzzzz and others that was exciting, but the software was never intended from the beginning to be a working online game.

I have finally got tired of waiting and I have started game production. I am a computer programmer that has been doing GameDev for a long time and the current online FPS/RTS game I am working on is getting ready for Beta testing so I decided to go ahead and start getting the foundation for HeroScape Online started now while finishing up the other game.

I am absolutely dedicated and get things done as fast as possible with what I have, and for this game I will pretty much be doing everything myself. I will be able to use a lot of my code from the game on working on though, including tough stuff like multiplayer networking, lobby room, cameras, the game engine, etc.

That being said, I do need help on a few things. The main thing I need is one expert 2d graphic artist to help with creating the Unit Cards (front and back), website, game 2d graphics, and possibly some model skins. I will eventually be creating a card creator that works with game and it's not just as simple as importing the front and back of each card picture. It will also involve removing the abilities text and then re-typing it into a button from the card editor so players can click on the button when they want to use an ability for that unit.

So I am going to need one expert with 2d graphics that also can work with the eventual card editor to create cards for each unit. I think a good place for me to start with this is to have anyone interested to first create a HeroScape Online logo and I will be able to narrow list of applicants down from there.

The other help I will need is 2 real experts on HeroScape rules, because I am sure that the way my brother and I have playing it for years might not be totally correct. So as the game becomes playable I will need 2 game play checkers to make sure the code is true to the rules of the game. If you have played the game for years and know the exact rules you can also send me a email to link above.

Lastly, as always, keep you enthusiasm level low until I really get the ball rolling. The first demo will be the first battlefield scenerios from Heroscape. After that is complete and I have something to show, then comes the negotiations with Hasbro, which is the be-all and end-all of whether game will actually be made. I am fairly confident though that after they see demo that a agreement can be made.

Actually, there is another system for playing Heroscape online that runs rather well made by our own Filthy the Clown. The instructions seem intimidating at first, but after your first match it will all come easily. Welcome to the site.
