Speaking of Major Q9, in our "tournament" on Wednesday, in one game, one player had a set of Aubrien Archers frenzy 3 times in a row with height advantage on Q9 and they manage not to get a single wound on Q9! That's 12 attacks of 3 att dice. (In this particular game, the player with the Archers had killed off every unit other than Q9 without losing a single unit; but Q9 then eventually fought back and killed off everything and won the game.)
In different match, the same Q9 got beaten to a pulp by Krug. |

I hate the DWs. with a passion because of the very reason pointed out in this thread, but I took 8K just for fun and watched as he, round for round, wiped out everyone in sight/range (7 figures in 2 rounds). I'm dumbfounded. Is this the endless spiral where I draft him all the time just watch him try to recreate his past glory and fail miserably? Sounds like heroin- always chasing after that great first hit. . .

Using the DWs follows the old adage:
Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. Newb. |

We in the DW Support Group call it the "slot machine" effect. Just as slot machines are programmed to pay out just often enough to keep you hoping and playing but not often enough for you to win in the long run, so the DW's will perform heroically on occaision to keep up the illusion of being valuable pieces. But it's all part of their plan to enslave and ruin well-intentioned players. Interestingly, it is rumored that the DW's were assembled in a plant in Las Vegas. This tactic is particularly effective on the young, which is why we started our "Just say No" campaign to help todays youths deal with the problem of DW addiction. |

In my opinion the only good DW is DW7000 because of stealth dodge and self-destruct which set him apart from the other DW's that are so easily defeated with a decent amount of skulls.

Actually, the first time I used DW8000 I had this wonderful plan. My opponents Gorillinators were sitting in his starting zone towards the middle of the game and were looking ripe for some Rapid-Fire flaming plasma death. Plus, there were some other figures still there that had not moved yet. Well, first marker was on Saylind who summoned him across the board. Second marker DW8000 who opened fire! Blanks. Third marker, DW8000, with a chance to start a wonderful series of attacks! One skull, blocked by the one shield of the Gorilla. One gorilla plinks DW, who promptly dies. Killed my enthusiasm for DW8000. I don't think that I ever used him again. I got nuthin... |

I'm pretty sure that popular opinion is that the Deathwalkers are a lot of fun, but generally not worth their points. I'm just wondering what everyone thinks would be fair, but slightly more competitive prices for them. Does anyone have any thoughts?
